Question about 2001 Pontiac Sunfire
Service light comes on, error light runs good
Sounds like the ECM/PCM is finding an intermittent fault,There are a few part stores that will run a scan for free.If your car is running good,it doesn't sound like anything major.some cars do this after so may miles to let you know its time for a check-up.They can write down the codes for you and erase the old codes.then when you drive it again the light may or may not stay off.If it comes back on have it scanned again.they can tell you which part is acting up. Hope this helps and good luck

The check engine light comes ON when the cars computer (the ECU) notices any kind of electrical problem in car. In this case I suggest you to get your car scanned at autozone service center. It's absolutely free. In scanning the error codes will be retrieved. As per the error code you can check which part is faulty and replace that particular part. This will solve the problem.---------- This will help. Thanks. Helpmech.
