The switch assembly has a small plastic 'stalk' that sticks out at right angles to the switch. This nudges bushes on the internals of the switch assembly to tell the window to go up/down: To replace switch :-- Remove the door skin. The switch assembly is held on with two screws, top and bottom of the assembly behind the door skin. Undo these and the assembly just slides out: to get the part you can get it from here http://www.car-stuff.com/store/models.php?make_text=1697&year=4294963368&keyword=window_switch&catalog=11921 If not able to find part then you can call the service cebnter directly and order part 1-800-262-0795 Thanks. I would change the switch, but if it's the motor after you change the switch, then I would go for a new motor, or check out wiring in between for continuity.

good luck on it.

1997 nissan pathfinder power windows not working from driver side switchs

You obviously have a bad switch - perhaps the whole pod - in the driver door. The fact that the windows all work with their respective switches pretty well eliminates any other explanation. You can order the module and attempt a DIY or take it to a mechanic. I would advise the latter.

Passenger side window does not work from either the drivers side switch or the passengers side switch.I have replaced the window motor.

Did you check to see if you had power and ground to the window motor before you replaced it? A faulty master switch (driver door) will cut power and/or ground from BOTH switches.

Also, a common fault is the wires get broken in the umbilical between the driver door and the body. If the driver window works OK, then either the TAN or the LIGHT BLUE wire could be broken. This will keep the passenger window from working from EITHER switch.

I need help taking apart my drivers side door on a 95 Pontiac Firebird in order to fix my window that partially fell off of the track. Also what would be the best way to fix the window issue, an adhisive...

If the door fell off the track then either the track is broken or mis-aligned. Don't use glue or tape, find out what caused the door to fall off in the first place and correct it.

Your parts store should have a diagram of the door and can tell you where the screws and pins are, othewise you can just pull out all the visible screws (including the one on the door handle) and the other things holding the door on are plastic push fittings. To take these out you just have to find the fittings and pry at them with a wonderbar.

The parts store can also sell you a new track/motor/etc.

97 Sable passenger window will not close. Both driver side and passenger actuator are not working for this window. Looks like I have power to the switch. Tried reversing the up wires with the down...

Hard to believe the fix I have for you but it worked for us and totally surprised us too. We have a 1997 Mercury Sable, power everything and the drivers side window would not go up but all other windows worked fine. I called a car place to see about how much it would cost to fix and he told me to do this......sit in car with car on and have the door open to the window that won't go up, now hold the button in the UP position on the window and slam the door(even might have to have someone slam it for you)....when we did this the window went straight up perfectly and worked fine afterward and for 2 years. So please try it. The guy told us it would work on any power windows in any car because it just jumps the bad part or place in the window thingy lol.....good luck.
