It would appear that either a part of the wiring under the seat has chaffed or your the switch itself is malfunctioning. Try to see if it occurs when you hit a bump or road joint next time.

SOURCE: 2003 Suburban---Heated leather seat problem

there may be a software issue, there is a reprogram for seat heater issues. Bulletin 05-08-50-008 may pertain to that, a AC DELCO Shop or the dealer can ck that and see if this bulletin applies.

SOURCE: Our Driver Seat Heaters and passenger seat will turn on for 2 sec

When this was happening on my Envoy it ended up being the seat heaters control module that was going out. About $600 a seat on mine. Just wish my repair center found that out before they replaced the seat heaters twice.

2004 GMC Sierra drivers side seat heater turnes on and off by itself

The seats are powered by a 30amp breaker which includes the circuits for the power motors.
The signal from the control switch goes to a door module then to a memory seat module, then to the heater elements.
It may be easier to disconnect the heating element for now, repairs will need a shop manual to test and trace the circuits.

I have heated seats in my '04 suburban, the driver seat will start heating up on its own. It will go from hi to lo and everything in between.

You should have an electrical connection, under the seat itself which can be disconnected. Be careful to stay away from any side airbag wiring.

After it has been raining alot the driver side seat warmer will come on by itself

Has anyone worked on the driver's side door--maybe to do bodywork or to replace the window regulator? The plastic moisture barrier may be damaged or improperly reistalled allowing water to get into a connector or the switch for the seat heater.

Heated seats stopped working on suburban 2004

you may have a module seat module problem if both of the seat heaters are inop. if only one has a problem, the elements in the seats could be bad. there are tests to ohm the resistance of the elements. if you want to dive into it ask the nearest dealership for a wiring diagram and the resistance values.

2004 chevy. Heated seats will not stay on.

See GM TSB 05-08-143-001, If you have Adjustable pedals, especially if they dont; work with the memeory buttons, but function with thier own buttons. Its the Brake Pedal Position Sensor is shorted and mesing up the seat module which controls the heaters too. My 05 Suburban had the same issue.

Heated seats

The body control module in this vehicle sees a short in the seat heater system. These vehiucles are typical of the heater wiring shorting out. When you try to use the bad heater the computer shuts off all the heaters.

You will need to install a new seat heater pad.

Six way power driver seat bottom does not adjust up or down.

it can only be 2 things, either the switch is bad or the motor in the transmission is bad, both parts are a common failure so u must test each to determine which is at fault, do u have a 12 volt test light? if not get one, about $6 from any parts store like Kragen, Autozone and others, raise the seat as high as possible and disconnect the motor that is inop, (be careful not to break the connector locks) push the switch to operate that motor in one direction (up for this test), the test light should light, then move the test light to the other terminal of the connector and press the switch for down, again the test light should light, if the lights go on as described then the motor is the problem and if they don't the switch is the problem.
