You will have a timing belt on your vehicle that is usually replaced along with the water pump. At 100K miles i would do the following: 1. Timing Belt and Water pump replacement and Serpentine Drive Belt replacement. I suggest replacing all the cooling system hoses, replace the thermostat & radiator cap and flush the radiator since the cooing system will be drained and fill with new coolant/water mixture. 2. Check the motor mounts and replace if necessary. 3. Replace the spark plugs and wires. 3. Check the cv joints for broken or cracked boots and replace if necessary. 4.Have the transmission/transaxle serviced and filled with new transmission fluid. (This should be done every 30k miles) 5. I also suggest oil and filter replacement, air filter replacement, have the brakes checked and the tires rotated. It is a good idea to have the thottle body cleaned and the fuel filter replaced also. All of these should be done if they have not been done already. I believe in preventative maintenance and if you can catch problems before they get too serious you can save yourself a lot of time and money. I hope this helps. Please rate me on my answer.

A very nice comfortable automobile:) No concerns with timing belts...no other major concerns...they hold resale value well don't they:) At 89,000 miles you early maintenance concerns will be have the brakes been replaced...have the front rear struts been replaced? Tranny fluid filter serviced yet? Also should replace plugs and wires by 100,000, also look at wear on serpentine belt...coolant serviced? These are minor concerns, but will definitely affect your enjoyment of this premium Buick:)

How long will a timing chain last on a passat with a v6 engine

Hi,
Actually the timing chain is for a lifetime, the only thing you replace is the chain guide and the tensioner.

Hope that helps you out!

Do 2002 pontiac grand am se has timing belt or timing chain and at what miles it has to be changed

Hi
The car has a timing belt - [ rubber] and should be changed at 100,000 miles - each 100,000 miles = new belt.
To save problems many people do this at about 90,000 miles and it is also best to change the water pump while you're in there.

Best of it.

When does the timing chain on a 2001 2.5 liter Chevrolet tracker need to be adjusted or replaced

Usually 100,000-120,000 miles. They are usually dependable. Take your front protection guard off of the engine, your front timing belt cover. It should only be a bolt or two. Visually inspect it. Look for damage in the chain. If money wasn't an issue, I would change at 100,000 miles. That is what the shop always says on timing chains. If you need anything else, just let us know. No problems i have 76000 miles when does it require a tuneup

Most newer vehicles are on a 100,000 mile tune up mark now, I'm under the same concern with my 2006 Charger since my maintenance book never calls for a tune up. It's good through 105,000. Supposedly. As long as it continues to run fine I would wait until the 90,000 to 100,000 mark.

When should the timing belt be changed on a saab vector 1.9 Tid

Standard Answer for Timing Belts/Chains: 100,000 to 120,000 miles is when the Timing Belts/Chains start malfunctioning or failing. Some people want to go ahead and change them before malfunctions/failures happen.
I just replaced mine on 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan which just turned 100K. Most Timing Belt/Chain failures will cause more costly engine damage when these fail, including a need to replace/rebuild an entire engine.

timing chains in most cases never need be repalced for the life of the engine, timing belts on the other hand last about 60,000-100,000 miles.
