Put a load test on the battery. the battery could have 12 volts until a load is put on it then it looses voltage fast. have the battery tested not just checking how many volts it has, also check the ground to engine and power to fuse box in engine compartment. ive seen these cars melt the connection that runs from the battery to fuse/relay box, the where the connection connects to the fuse box you may find the bad connection there but first have battery tested.

97 buick century was running after jump started, when put in reverse it died and wont start when jump start, no chimes or lights come on at all

Dangerous practice to try & jump a near dead battery

Always try charging a battery, that is only a couple years
old & not run down more than two or three times

If the battery is dead & reads less than 12 volts, have a parts
store test it or just replace it.

Jumping a cars battery is not a fix for anything,so I fail to
see how your lost & have not addressed the battery issue,
so you can continue on with other testing,if needed

I have a 2003 C180 Kompressor - 4matic. Im getting a replace alternator sign but its seems to work fine but im geting also increase in electricity in the car and even disconects and reconects while im

The voltage regulator in the alternator has probably failed. The AH rating of the battery has nothing to do with it. This is why I would never own a MB, too many gadgets that cost a fortune to fix when they fail.

My car wont start but all lights and dash come on

Lisa, how long was the key in the one position? For the heck of it, put the car in neutral, and try to start it. It's possible the neutral safety switch is bad, which could cause the problem. It should start in neutral if that's the problem. Let me know if this works, if not, I'll help further.

1994 buick regal wont start unlless a jump off,and then run good

Check the battery, have a load test done on the battery, now,it could be that the battery terminals, and battery cable ends are corroded, clean them really good, shining clean, this makes a big difference.Good idea to have the alternator checked also, while on the vehicle running, with the head lights on,and high blower motor,it should read at the battery,13.65 volts,to 14.25 volts.

My car sometimes wont start and when it does it cuts out and dies

Put a voltmeter on battery. It should say something like 12 volts. Start motor and see if you have about 14.5 volts while running. If not your charging system has failed.

1999 Buick Regal starting problems

Connect a volt meter to the neg. and pos. of the battery. Have an assistant start your car and watch to see how far the voltage drops. If it drops more than 2 volts, for example, hook up the meter, you should see 12 volts. By starting the car and it drops below 10 volts during start up, your starter is slowly going out. It taking more amperage to start it than normal.
