The 2001 olds aleros came with a 4 cylinder engine which is a 2.4 and also the V-6 engine which is the 3.4. hope this helps.if your not sure on which is what then look at your insurance card look at the vechile id number and count from left to right to the 8th dight if its a T then you have the 4 cylinder 2.4 engine, if the 8th digit is a E then you have the V-6 engine which is the 3.4.

the sticker under hood will tell you or most have the liter size right on the valve coveror the letter in middle of the vin identifies the engine size. Fis 2.2 liter 4cyl, E is 3.4 liter 6 cyl

Just changed plugs and wires on a 01 Olds Alero 6 cyl now it won't start

I just got a 01 alero and can not find dip stick for tranie can you tell me were to find it


Does not have a dipstick for the V6. It does have a red cap on the top of the tranny where it can be filled. While looking at your engine, it's on the right hand side on top of the tranny.

Engine size of 2001 olds alero


Common engine size is the 3.4 V6 on the Alero but there was also a optional 2.4 liter I4 available. The V6 will have stamped in the engine upper intake 3400.

01 olds alero troubles keep the car running during driving


Is the trac off? If so that could be the problem does the car shake when stopped at light? or struggle to go for green light? check all tires are they all same size? if tires are low or at different pressure it will put the hole car off balance and the trac will go off and stay of witch will give you false transmission problems am I close let me know and I can see what else I can tell you

TURN KEY ON AND TURN OFF ALL ACCESSORIES,RADIO,A/C,ETC,LOWER DRIVER SIDE WINDOW, MAKE SURE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED,THEN TURN KEY OFF,THEN ON,LEAVE KEY ONN FOR ABOUTH 10 MINUTES UNTIL SECURITY LIGHT IS STEADY ON,
TURN KEY OFF FOR 10 SECONDS AND START THE CAR.
MOST TIME THE KEY SECURITY AND THE MODULE NEED REPROGRAMING,
HOPE THESE HELP.
