How to convert a 2001 Range rover 4.6 HSE from Air Bags to Shock Struts & Springs. I have replaced the air ride computer and the air bags. Had installed a manual system using switches. the rear air...

This is not a difficult job for a specialist shop used to doing the conversion but doing it yourself is NOT recommended unless you have a hoist, special tools (like spring compressors) and experience of what to remove.
Do NOT go to a dealer to be ripped off. A specialist Land Rover shop will do this job for around $1000 and save you a lot of angst

you've got to check all the connections and wiring to all of the bags and the module. the module may need to be replaced if the airbags went off. and you'd need to bring it into the dealership to have them program the replacement module.

Where is the fuel filter on a 99 land rover discovery?

RH Rear Wheel arch. The TD5 is large and obvious, the V8 is tucked up and above the shock.

Range rover problem air bag suspension

I would recommend going to and taking a look at our conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. Airbags and compressors are constantly having to be replaced. Also something alot of people don't know is that theses air suspensions are not meant to be in temperatures above 90 Degrees or below 40 Degrees. That is most of the world. The temperature will cause you to replace alot of bags. and typically when your replacing a bag you are going to have to replace the compressor to because the bag had a hole or small crack in it causing the compressor to over work and it will die. I posted the link below so you can take a look

I hope I was of some help

Good Luck!!!

When driving down the road it bounces

Sounds like worn or blown struts - they control the oscillation of the car on rougher roads.
