Question about Ford Probe

1 Answer

I have a 1989 Ford Probe GL 2.2 liter. The parking and dashboard lights have gone out. I checked the fuses and all good. I know electrical shorts are sometimes hard to find. Where can I start checking for the problem. Thank you

Thank you for your response. Would that dimmer switch be with the headlight switch and if it is, what would be a sign once I take the switch or knob off, if and when I can take it out. Would I have to replace the whole switch of knob?

The dimmer is not the headlight switch. It is usually a round switch on dahs on left side of the steering wheel. The contacts on the inside usually wear

I have a 2002 explorer tail lights and dash lights not working anyone know which fuse it is or number fuse it is?

This is clearly labelled either as accessories or tail lights
or dashboard lights. But the best way is to use a multi-tester. Set if at 1 x 10 ohms. Take the fuse one at a time, and test each by putting one test probe to the end
of the fuse, and the other test probe to the other end.
this must read zero for good fuse, and no reading for bad

Dashboard lights and back lights have gone out!!

This, without a doubt, is the main light switch. It comes complete with the wiper switch. Beware of using second hand ones.

Right turn or brake light not working

Questions? Do any of your brake lights work? Including Center Stop? Do your parking/taillights lights work? All your bulbs are multi-filiment bulbs that work through mulitple sources. Knowing which bulbs are doing what under all conditions might help narrow down the problem. Meanwhile, check for continuity between, stoplight switch and multifuntion switch (white wire). Also, check DrkBlue/White from MFSw. to Boby Control module. BE SURE to use a low inpedance tester to protect your modules. The DrkBl/Wh wire is your rigth side input. I may be a good idea while testing these wires to wiggle them to look for intermitent shorts.

This fuse is no.2 in the fuse box above the pedals and it should be a 15 amp.If you plugged a trailer in then check those electrics or check your brake light switch on the brake pedal.
