There also is a link on this site for testing the circuit.

Hope this helps you... Good luck!

This code indicates, "Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 2 Circuit High Voltage" on your Saturn. Check the wiring at the sensor. If the wiring is good then replace the sensor.

What are the probable causes of DTC P1283?

code p1283 refers to heated oxygen sensor(HO2S) bank 2--lean mixture ===causes ---HO2S---fuel pressure --injectors---intake air leak
the HO2S sensor is the one immediately in the exhaust manifold or before the cat converter ---you have changed the wrong unit and that is why there has been no change ( on a v 6 bank 2 is the bank at the grill side )
both the HO2S and the O2 sensor report on the air /fuel mixture to the ECM which makes the changes so it would be true to say that .
check all vacuum hoses for cracks or loose and check the vent controls hoses as well as any leak there will alter the mixture ratio and make it difficult for the ECM to maintain correct air/fuel ratio

Difference between Air fuel ration sensor to O2 sensor?

usually an O2 code is 3 digits and not this type of code. if it has an mass air flow sensor(MAF) it could be it. I would start with checking the MAF readings then the O2 readings. OBD 2 codes are emission regulated so no matter what car it is the codes represent the same problem.

Make sure you are looking up the code properly. 1283 for Nissan indicates a lean condition on bank 2. See link below. A vacuum leak is likely, but make sure the new sensor is recalibrated. Did you perform the relearn procedure after replacing the sensor? If not, see the second link below. If you ran the relearn procedure and cleared all codes but 1283 comes back, look for a loose vacuum line or leaky intake manifold gaskets. I am wondering if my 1999 saturn sl1 has a key code for the keys

my 99SW did not have coded keys, and it had remote door locks which seem to go along with coded keys. i assume a call into a GM dealer which services Saturns could answer this question if you gave them the VIN. do a google search for saturn service in your area. there will be some hapless GM dealer stuck with doing the maintenance on Saturns and they should have access to a data base which will provide that info.

P1212 -ICP voltage not at expected level

P01238 is not a code, too many numbers, if it is p1283 then it is an IPR circuit failure.

The IPR is probably your problem, even with a non working backpressure sensor your truck should run fine. I isn't needed except for the EBPV to operate during warm-ups.

Replace your IPR (injection pressure regulator)
