IIRC there is a Shreader valve with a plastic/rubber cap along one of the AC lines near the compressor. Follow the AC lines and you will see it.

On 2005 ford taurus air conditioner quit cooling and white smoke coming from under the hood

You need to have your A/C checked as that chemical smell was the freon which is a deadly gas if inhaled.

Can i change my own air compressor hose? i was told it has a hole in it and will not hold freon....

You can ... it is dangerous to do ... and there is little point to do it anyway ... unless you have a vacuum pump and tools (gages, oil, leak detector, etc.) to add the freon later. Systems open to the atmosphere MUST be cleared of air using a vacuum pump.

Thanks for your question @

Trying to find the low pressure port to refill freon. Where can i find it on 2005 ford taurus

Look at the colored pressure caps on your A/C lines. One is labeled with a H and the other with an L. The L is the low pressure side. Should be the smaller of the two

A/c bearrings are going out. How hard is it to fix or replace?

If your not familiar with an a/c system, let an expert do it. you will have to recover the freon, remove the pump, fix or replace the pump, change the filter, connect the system, put under vacuum (make sure no leaks) about 12 hours, and recharge the system. Not a beginners thing to do. I've be doing body work and engine work for over 20 years and still won't do a/c work.

Need information on the removal and replacement of air conditioner condenser and pulley for 97 Taurus

This is a professional job. You need to drain & reclaim freon so it does not get into atmosphere. Then evacuate system with a vacuum pump for 30 minutes, then refill with R134a freon in the proer amount. Need special tools too. Probably a $500 job.

I have a 1996 Ford Taurus GL and need to add freon

if the port you are trying to connect to is bigger than the connector on the hose, then that is the wrong one. that's the high side. you want to connect to the low side, which is a smaller fitting. the fittings for 134a are quick disconnect.
