Mitsubishi automatic transmissions are sensitive and act up if you do not change the fluid at the recommended intervals. I do not recommend flushing or those special pump through changes that are offered. If done incorrectly they can cause more harm than good. The ATF can be changed just like changing your engine oil. Drain plug on the bottom, and fill hole is the dipstick hole. If it is really dirty, change it. Drive 1000 to 5000 miles and change it again. This should clean up the system.Use the correct fluid or an aftermarket equivalent. It will probably be synthetic for about $6-$10 a quart. Do not over fill. That should get it shifting correctly again.

On automatic transmission that has over 100,000 miles, you should not flash it. DO NOT got to a shop that use re-circulate machine to flush out the transmission.

Base on the 2005 production year, you should have only 60,000 on the transmission.

The correct method is to purchase the transmission filter, pan gasket kit + transmission fluid and a trans line cleaning fluid.

Get the complete kit from your auto parts supply store and do the drain, cooler flush and filter change.

Recycle your old transmission fluid at your part store or recycling center.

Some newer vehicle have a drain plug so you can change the transmission fluid. If you don't see a transmission pan, it's one of those kind of vehicle.

You need to go and get a trans service ASAP, Driving could cause more damage, sounds like a fluid blockage because the filter has not been replaced and full of gunk

Tip

05-07 Nissan Pathfinder hard shifting and bad coolant

These pathfinders have a major common problem and there is no technical service bulletin. Does your pathfinder have a hard (jerking)1-2 gear shift? does it have a hard shift in any other gears, when downshifting, or comming to a stop? Is your coolant a grey cooler or is your trans fluid bad? check your coolant on top of the radiator (when its cold) or in the coolant reservoir. Check your transmission fluid with the trans dip stick (with engine on).

What is happening is the trans fluid cooler (on the bottom of the radiator) and radiator are cracking and trans fluid and coolant fluid are mixing together. If you catch this problem very very early it might be possible to fix it with a simple flush coolant and tanns flush and new radiator. But in most cases it requires a new transmission and new radiator and major flushing. It will probably happen to all pathfinders for these years, just depends on when. go to the dealership for check ups and check your coolant fluid, trans fluid, and shifting often to diag it quickly.

2003 Mitsubishi Lancer es question cant figure out

Unfortunately, I do not think you will be able to use the flush kit on your car. There are two lines with very short hoses. The one you are looking for is only a few inches long. SORRY.

I have a 1999 e 320 benz and need to know how to replace waterpump

if your car over 65000 km done or after last trans service is it have been done over 65000 km from last trans service as a first thing do the trans service with trans mission flush, trans mission flush is very important, it must get done by right place who have the right flushing machine for mercedes trans flushing, it's take 12 Ltr transmission oil + transmission oil filter+ oil pan gasket+ pilot bush, you must ask them to replace all those things this trans service is very important for Mercedes 5 speed automatic transmission, please get genuine Mercedes parts only don't use any aftermarket stuff for this particular transmission, and also need to check transmission control unit, the reason is if you do not trans mission service at right time pilot bush starting to oil leaking, that oil flow through wiring to transmission control unit and it's get wet by oil, if it's get wet by oil it's not functioning properly so can play transmission, other thing is if any thing dose not work for solve your problem you must get it to authorized Mercedes transmission technician to check it can be faulty oil pump or torque converter, I would like to note one more important thin regarding this matter, before do any thing please check transmission oil condition its could be mixed with water, if the oil like milky, it's water in oil, if it's like that you must replace the radiator and trans flush as I note above this is very important for your problem, is this information helped you?

Dealer is telling me that to get the transmission flushed and gasket changed is $350! What is that about? I am having zero problems with it, but has 75,000 miles on it and has never been flushed

A transmission fluid service does not cost $300 dollars so it sounds like they are going to hook it up to a machine and flush out all the fluid in the transmission. Most automatic transmissions should have a trans service done every 12,000 miles(except BMW they are sealed). I personally think these so call transmission flushes are not needed all though your vehicle is way overdue for a trans service. How does the trans fluid look? They might be recommending this service because you have that many miles and never had the trans serviced. If you have had regular trans services done then you do not need a flush. Ask them how much a regular transmission service is and if they do not offer it to you then take it to a local mechanic and have it done.
