Sounds like a bad horn button which is actually part of the airbag. Replace your airbag. They're cheap on e-bay and it's not hard to do. Just make sure you disconnect the battery before doing any airbag work.
Change the switch itself if it drives normal then randomally kicks into 4 lo/4 hi i had the same problem and a transmission shop told me it was the vaccum and the transfer case but one of my mechanic friends told me that it was my switch and shops only tell you other things for the money. Try changing the switch.
was it hot outside-heat could deform the steering wheel horn pad and make the horn go off, remove the horn pad and airbag unit(take fuse out for airbag system wait a few mins)then put the fuse that you removed back in place and see if the horn goes off again.
Hello, The airbag light comes on whenever there is any problem with the safety restraint systems.
This means that while the light is on the AirBag WILL NOT deploy. It could be several things....Electrical short in the Steering wheel (supplies power to Airbag), Seat belt locks (if the computer thinks the seatbelt is not in use it won't deploy the airbag), these are the most likely problems, But it could be bad or loose wiring under the dash (aftermarket Stereo?), or Impact sensors, or the Body control module. Any other lights? When does it come on / go off? Random or predictible pattern? Goods news is the car does not need an airbag to drive ... Good luck , hope that helped..
The Airbag and ABS are separate systems and un-related, the speedo is related to the ABS light, I think if you run a self test on the system computer there will be a trouble code for the transmission speed sensor, the output of this sensor is used by the ABS and the speedometer. The airbag is most likely a defective rotating contact under the steering wheel, we techs call it a clock-spring contact because of it's shape, it allows the connection from the steering column to the airbag. CAUTION! If you want to change out this contact the steering wheel needs to be pulled, follow factory recommendations on dis-arming the airbag, it can be very dangerous if you don't.
