Yeah the fluid is the right color. I'm kind of weird when it comes to fluids, I check all my fluids once a week like clock work. lol.

Going up hill, the truck starts to buck its not shifting out of over drive?

I don't know year--make--model? If you shift from od to d, does the problem go away? If so, I agree with you, sounds like a tranny issue.

I used to have a vehicle that did the same thing, Always on the same steep hill. I'd shift into D until I crested the hill then back into od.

I realize my post doesn't help you fix it.

700r wont shift into overdrive how do u adjust the lets say kick down cable how do i adjust

kick down cables will not operate the over drive
they just select the next lower gear for passing , pulling heavy loads or going up hill.
check the fault codes for a od servo./ solenoid problem

Why does my car bog down and wont accelerate up a hill?

Usually a sign of a fuel problem, either too much or too little.
Too much could be several problems including a clogged air filter, too little could be a weak fuel pump or other issue.
A mechanic would check fuel pressure and air flow first.

No Reverse and the fluid is dirty and smells funny.

Sounds like you blew out your reverse belt/gear in the transmission. Probably going to need a transmission rebuild/replacement.

Should i drive my mercury mountaineer in over drive on or off

Depends on what you are doing...

NEVER TOW in OVERDRIVE, you will burn up the Transmisison

Under normal Driving Conditions, leave it in OD (Overdrive), the vehicle will automatically choose the gear for you

If you are driving up and down Hills (Mountains) where it is shifting back and forth a lot, my own personal preference is to take it out of OD until I am going down the hills. I hate the shifting back and forth and prefer to keep the RPM's up in the 2200 -2350 range to maximize the engine....
