Question about BMW 525
Hi Jcram. You will have to remove the fan cover in order to remove the radiator. Take digital pix along the way and label the parts so you can put it all back correctly. Once all of that is done, replacing the thermostat will be a piece of cake. J.
here are the steps:
1. Remove fan impeller with fan clutch from water pump. Remove coolant expansion tank from fan cowl. Note: Coolant lines remain connected. Remove auxiliary water pump from fan cowl. Note: Coolant lines remain connected.
2. Unclip AUC sensor.
3. Lever out expansion rivets (1) on left and right. Detach sealing strip (2). Installation: Pay attention to installation position of sealing strip. Lift out fan cowl and fan impeller together.
