Question about 1987 GMC S-15 Pickup
Two basic things to check power and gas
check power at a plug too see if you have spark. from your description you sound sure that your not getting gas. Check when you first turn the key to the run position (not crank) see if you can hear the fuel pump in the gas tank. If not, start doing electical checks at the relay, oil pressure switch if it has one (not the pressure sender), fuse block. If you have power there then check back at the fuel pump connector back at the tank. If you have power at the tank, its' likely the fuel pump.
Intermittent electrical faults are one of the hardest things to diagnose. Note the conditions at time of failure like how hot it is, how much gas in the tank, any other weirdness like blinkers etc...
use a paper clip to set the computer into diagnostic mode and count the blinks to see if there are any codes set. Autozone will do it for you and print out what the codes mean.
