Question about 1999 Dodge Intrepid
I do not know the particular details of Intrepids, but in most modern automatic vehicles there is an electric lockout gate that will not let you pull the lever out of park UNLESS you are stepping on the brake, or in some cars, unless it is turned on. There is a good possibility that you forgot to reattach the cable that powers this gate, in the bottom of the shifter assembly, when you reassembled the shifter lever.
