The brake light sensor in the brake fluid reservoir is most likely stuck, use your finger and push it down in the reservoir, and let it pop back up,and see if this will solve the problem.

Brake light (in dash) intermittently comes on when I accelerate after a stop, then goes off.

Does the car have ABS? Sometimes the brake light indicates a problem with the ABS sensors.

HOW TO GET RID OF THE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS ON DASH

Hello, welcome to Fixya!

The ABS and brake lights on your dash board is cause by low brake fluid/oil level. When the brake fluid/level of your vehicle is low, the ABS light and brake light will appear on your dash board, indicating that it needs to be checked.

So open your bonnet and check the brake fluid/oil and make sure it is not low. The brake fluid/oil is the first that needs to be checked in a situation like this.

If the above appears not to be the problem, please let me know.

Regards.

Brake light on dash stays on even when the emergency brake is released

That brake light also indicates when your brake fluid is low. Check your brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir and add some if necessary. Also, check the braking system for leaks.

How do you get the brake light to go off.

the brake light comes on the dash either when the brake fluid is low in the resevoir , the fluid level switch is bad, or when there is a pressure problem in the brake system. the brake fluid level, though, is the most common. check to make sure the brake fluid is topped off. even though it may not look low, it may be low enough to light the light.

The brake light comes on, on the dash. Brakes work O.K.2003 mercury grand marquis. 112000 miles. the dealer says the pads are good.

Make sure your emergency brake pedal is all the way up, because sometimes if it goes down one notch, that can trigger that light to come on..It wont be enough to drag or slow the sar down, but it will be enough to turn that light on...Also even though your brakes are good..double check your break fluid level...

Brake light on dash is on. What does it mean?

This Light Indicates 1 of 2 things, 1. Is the BRAKE FLUID Level is LOW, Or 2. That the Parking BRAKE is Applied. Check Fluid and Top Off If Needed, There is A LINE that Shows The PROPER Level.
