If you mean the temperature display on the rearview mirror, you need to replace the outside temperature sensor. It is located under the hood, on the radiator support on the top near center.

The problem is either an actuator or the door associated with it. Sometimes the gear strips, especially when the system goes thru a recalibrate after power has been removed and reapplied. Below is a diagram of the locations of the actuators.

Heater blows cool air. temp. gauge stays on cold and when on defrost the ac light comes on and blows cold air. Any ideas or solutions?

heart core is plugged or more thremostae is stuck in the opened position. the A/C will always come on during defrost that is how it works on all cars.

With the temp set at 90 degrees its still blows

Noise from rear of car has no relation to no heat. Check the coolant level. I'd guess it's low. If it's full, the thermostat is not working.

The blower motor and AC works but the heater doesn't in a 2002 bonnieville Pontiac. I turn on the AC and it works fine. I switch over to the heat and it just blows cold air.

if your vehicle has the electronic climate control, it is probably the blend door motor/actuator that has failed and is stuck at the temp that was last entered in the climate control unit when it failed. this can be a very time consuming repair to do as it is under the dash. the other possibility is your coolant level is low and not allowing the heater core to bring the outside air up to the temp you want. if that is the case, your low coolant temp sensor should have come on. if not, then the thermostat could be either stuck open or closed. if stuck open the engine would not always show the temp gauge at normal operating temp of 195-200 degrees. if stuck closed the engine should be overheating according to the temp gauge. you did not mention what the operating coolant temp was!

No ac

The ambient air temperature sensor is bad or has a connection/wiring problem. It is not blowing cold air because it thinks the outside air is less then 35degrees. When the computer sees outside air less than 35 it disables AC so that ice will not form inside the vehicle and in HVAC system. The sensor is directly behind the front grill. You might be able to check it for connection/corrosion/frayed or damaged wires. If no evidence of this I would replace it.
