my mix door actuator is on top of the plenum. are you saying the actuator on the bottom by the blower motor controls the door actuator? do you know where I can download a wiring diagram?

I to replaced my heater core and had the same issue. remove the top of the dash and remove the screws holding the plastic ducts in place to gain acces to the blend door actuator. inspect the open close markings on the side of the case. you will notice that the shaft indicator probably shows that it has traveled farther then the marks. what you have to do is remove actuator, split the case halves. reposition the gears to close to center as possible. reassmble acuator and install. and test. what happens is the actuator goes out of the travel range and your airconditioning/heater control locks the actuator out.

The door you are talking about has an actuator motor on the bottom of the blower box, look in the middle, under the dash, that will be the one, make sure it is plugged up,if not,it may need replacing.

The driver side only blows cold air. The passenger side works correctly. How can you tell if the problem is a broken blend door or actuator? Is the driverside blend door actuator easy to replace? This...

Yes it is most likely a vacuum actuator there are more then one . They open and close little doors in the ducts to deriect air flow inside the ducts . They are not easy to get at in most cases however you should look at all vacuum lines going to and near the unit its controlled by engine vacuum . exhust all other opptions first before takeing the dash out . The problem could also be electrical check the control switches make sure the switch is not bad on one side . Spend some time looking and thinking before you start riping things apart. Good luck with it

2004 Chevy Silverado heater blows cold air. What would cause this problem?

the heat is independant from your ac. look for leaky radiator hoses or heater hoses, radiator cap, coolant

leaks inside your cab under the dashboard on your floor board. if you have non of these problems.

you may have a blocked or stopped up heater core and it will need to be replaced. depending on the

truck some replacements are easy and some hard , trucks and cars vary. good luck!

I just got a 1999 chevy silverado 2wd and the temp reaches 210 but the air dosnt blow hot

1.)heater core restricted-check both heater hoses coming from the heater core if one is cold your heater core is restricted and you will need to flush the core.
2.)Your air mix door actuator in the vehicle is inoperative and you will need to replace it.It is located on the bottom of the heater case in the center of the vehicle. It mounts straight up with a couple bolts.

The fan speeds are not workig on my 2004 Chevy quad cab. Compresor ok. Can feel some cool air out of vents when driving. Please help

check fuses then try turning the fan to high and give the heater motor a bump underneath the dash on the passenger side .. this will usually get them spinning and will tell you if it's worn out. Another thing is a resistor that fails that is located about 10 inches to the left of the motor but they usually give some sign the are failing by dropping speeds first.
