Question about 2006 Chevrolet HHR
Some of those audio systems have a security code so that if they are stolen from the vehicle, they won't work. Any time there is a total loss of voltage, there is a strong possibility of this happening. You can probably find more about it in the Owner's manual. The dealer can do it, no problem, but it costs $$.
