Why wont my car start

Possibly a battery cable terminal or the connection at the starter.
Sometimes a loose or faulty wire can barely work until a load is put on it then it just shuts down. Test power flow at starter before and after turning the key. Replace battery cable ends and if the problem persists, replace entire cable.

2003 Ford Taurus air condition switching to defrost at high rpm; speedometer, tachmeter, odometer quit.

Hi Bret, Most modern vehicles have an engine main relay. The relay in question turns off all auxiliary circuits for the starting operation, (when you turn the key to the start position) which consumes more power than any other operation. I would suspect a problem with the wiring to that relay. A loose or bad connection at the base or to the base. The relay in question will usually be a five pin normally open normally closed relay. It should be identified by the directory printed onto the plastic cover of the relay / fuse cover. Also check the secondary connections to the battery. Regards John

Won't start..... does it turn over and won't fire, clicks, or just nothing? Do lights, radio , etc work with key on?

2003 ford taurus when u go to start it it just clicks new starter battery good won't start just clicks

If you can verify that the battery is good then I would say that the starter itself has failed. This clicking you hear is the solenoid on the starter attempting to engage the starter.

1999 Ford Taurus Wont Start

Tapping the starter does not always work. I would check all the connections on the battery and starter. If these are good replace the starter. Don't forget the grounds.
