Do u have the clutch bled completely of trapped air?, this means the pedal is firm all the way down, no free play of any kind? also if u shift the transmission into 2nd gear before u engage reverse gear that will ease the grinding, remember reverse is not syncronized so the gears must stop or almost stop to eleiminate the possibility of a grinding engagement, the things that can cause this problem to be worse are a clutch that is not fully disengaged due to air trapped in the system, low fluid level in the tranmission and a abnornally fast idle speed.

My clutch wont go into any gear unless i force it.. And it grinds on going in reverse. is it the master/slave cylinder the problem. or the clutch? please help!!!

Hopefully you got a warranty with the clutch job, so I would take it back to that shop first. If you have someone else work on the truck the first shop is off the hook for responsibility. Its possible the clutch has failed, or you have developed a new problem.

Clutch issues

This is a hydraulic clutch, meaning you push fluid to make the clutch move just like the brakes.
I would check the clutch master cylinder first to see if it is full of fluid.
The master or slave cylinder could have failed, among other things.
Grinding gears means the clutch disk is not moving.

Manual trans won't go into any gear (stuck in neutral); clutch pedal has no pressure (like stepping on whipped cream).

Find the small "clutch" master cylinder under the hood and follow the line all the way down to the slave cylinder. Have a helper move the pedal up and down while you watch the slave cylinder. If the rod or lever does not move in and out with the movement of the pedal, you have a failed master or slave cylinder. You may have to buy the whole thing as a pre-bled unit.

2002 saturn vue, manual shifting problems

You have a slave cylinder for this trans. Pump the clutch pedal 25 times with the engine OFF. Then start it and try shifting it into each gear while parked. If this make it work your slave cylinder needs to be replaced

Gear Shift very stiff, doesnt want to go into 1st gear or reverse

Continued operation like this and $100 would have been the cheap fix. If this is a hydraulic clutch, check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder. Most take Dot 3 brake fluid and it will say on the cap. It is located on the fire wall near brake master cylinder
