SOURCE: abs and brake light is flashing on my 99 audi a6

If you need to repair the brake module, there is a fantastic article, complete with photos, at http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec116.shtml

I followed this example for my '98 and now it works perfectly. I found a shop on eBay to rebuild my module (lifetime warranty) for under $200. It took me about 1 hour to pull it off and about 45 min to put it back on with minimum shop tools

SOURCE: Audi A6 quattro 1999 the ABS light is on and the

That indicates that the ABS controller is having issues. The ABS controller is the metal box along the driver's side of the engine, just in front of the coolant overflow tank. The controller is the black box on top of it with the harness attached. You can buy a new one (expensive) or send yours to www.modulemaster.com for a warrantied rebuild. They have a great reputation on the Audi forums I frequent, and you can drive the car while it's gone (you just won't have functioning ABS while it's gone).

No spark 1992 audi quattro

I would check the Ignition Control Unit. ICU's have a tendency to go out with out warning. Without the ICU, you don't have any spark. Depending on the manufacturer of the part, it could be any where from $15 to $25 at Napa.

This is common in the audi cars. It may be that your ABS module is failing or the the connector to the ABS pump located in the engine compartment on the drivers side, with black metal lines going into it. Their is a large black connector that sometimes needs to be unplugged and cleaned and plugged back in

It's probably your brake check switch going bad, it's under the driver's side dash above the brake pedal. I had the same problem and eventually my cruise control and brake lights stopped working when it failed completely. This is also a redesigned part that you can get from the dealer for about $8, which to me indicates they new the part caused problems and failed to notify owners. Try that before Audit tries telling you wires are faulty.

Just a gal n a fuse box lol

Gal,

Some common locations for the fuse box are as follows. 1.) Side of the dash as you open the drivers side door. 2.) Underneath the dash on the firewall or immediately underneath by the hood latch. 3.) Passenger side glove box. There is also another fuse box in the engine compartment as well that houses the major stuff. Hope this gives you some direction. Thanks for using fixya!

Sincerely,

JC

Audi 80 ABS problem

Hi there mate. I had the same problem. Have you got all the sensors the right distance away from the wheel? I think its 25 thow (excuse my spelling) and its the thickness of a matchbox carton. So just make sure the distance is right and the light should switch off. A trick is using super glue to stick some carton on the sensor and the pressing it in to the max distance. the wheel will push the cardbaord off by itself and it should be sweet.
