Question about 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer

1 Answer

Intermittent air conditioning problem. My wife has a 2006 Lancer. She says that the A/C will sometimes not cool. I have had the car running for some time now with the A/C on with no problems noted. The only observation that I question is the duration that the compressor cycles. It runs for 10-14 seconds and cycles off for 9-11 seconds in succession. Is this normal? I'm thinking low charge or bad LP faulty LP switch?

SOURCE: Where is the Fuel Gas

The fuel filter is located WITH the fuel pump it is called a fuel module, it is what Mitsubishi calls this bundle, to access remove rear seat cushion under it you will find the a sheet metal access cover, under that cover is the module assy. This will be a new fuel pump and filter you are replacing, so make sure you are doing a repair you need first.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi Lancer Problems

the problem with the handling may be due to a steering alignment isue our you may have a problem with the bushes in the car it may pay to take it to a suspension expert and pay to get it tested ( this dose not cost to much)
the problem with the heater control is generally in the knob it self the mechanism fails and you will need to replace it recommend going to the wreckers and acquiring one.
how many settings do you have with your blower are all of them working if not you may need to get a new fan resistor ( from mits )
of all settings are working there may be a fault in the blower unit our it may be full of leaves.
as for the air filter i recommend you go to your parts retailer and get a high flow pannal filter that fits straight into the existing housing, you will get the same benefits with out having to modify the air intake and you will not have any problems with road worthy ect.

I have a 2006 mitsubishi lancer. The a/c works intermittently. Works the least the hotter the day gets. The presures are 25 low side & 145 high side @ idle. What are the proper pressures ? I beleive...

Those pressures are OK and within specs. I would suspect the cooling issue lies with the air temperature control blend door actuator and or the blend door sticking in the ducting due to warpage.

Hi guys, i have mitsubishi lancer 2006 1.3 every time i start my car from cool engine, there a sound same as pouring water in my left dashboard near in steering and after a few second (around 10-30 sec)...

Hi,
I you believe the air trapped on your cooling system, just do this hints. Run your engine for awhile ( about 3-5 minutes) . then turn off your engine, open your radiator cap ( please wait foe awhile if it is too hot). Top up the coolant on your radiator. Repeat above step. It will be OK! now.

After my air conditioning has been on for about 30 mins it sometimes drips liquid on my feet - what is causing this?

The air conditioning coil that cools the car should be in a tray that collects the condensate and drains under the car or perhaps down through the engine compartment. After running the air if you pull into your driveway and stop you should see water dripping. If the drain gets plugged it will overflow the drain pan and drip in the car. This may be what is happening. Look around near the firewall for the drain pipe/hose. Be careful if the engine has just been run.

Why does the Air Conditioning work sometimes and sometimes not?

I would replace the AC low pressure cycling switch, this is the most common cause of your problem.
