The compressor will not recieve power if the AC system is low on refridgerant charge, the pressure in the system is sensed by a switvch in the low pressure AC refridgerant line, this model and year are noted for having a front seal leak at the AC compressor, have the system charge and pressures tested by an AC shop to determine if the system is low, then they can use a special leak detecting tool to find out exactly where the leak is in the system.

My husbands 93 park ave ac compressor is not running, when he relplaced the ac relay it worked one time and then no longer works. There doesn't seem to be any power getting to the compressor, could there...

If it has the auto air functions. On the passenger side under glovebox remove the black cover under the dash and there is a hidden fuse block with a ac fuse. Check for this a very common issue. Also if the ac is fully charged you can unplug the low pressure switch located on the accumulator( silver canister located by the relays towards the firewall) and take a wire and place between the two terminals just make sure the compressor will does come on.If the ac is turned on and you jump that switch and the compressor does turn and ac starts working then a good possibilty that the low pressure may be bad. Would check the fuse first.

No power to ac comp. All fuses good, ac/heater controls have power

U NEED TO CHECK FOR POWER AT LOW PRESURE SWITH AND A/C RELAY.U WONT GET POWER TO COMPRESSOR UNLESS RELAY IS WORKING AND SYSTEM THINKS THERE IS ENOUGH REFRIGERANT IN. USUALLY LOW PRESSURE SWITCH IS ON TOP OF RECEIVER DRIER.

Can some post the 1999 gmc sierra wiring diagram

you don't have enough pressure in your system. odds are you have a leak someplace and the factory installed a saftey switch to keep the ac from running when there is no pressure. This way you don't end up burning up your compressor.
