Hi

The wreck most likely damaged the SRS impact sensor in the bumper. The sensor can be replaced but unless you have experience doing it I would recommend taking it to somebody who has done it before. In the mean while, you SRS will not function properly and if you are involved in a front end collision the air bags will most likely not deploy. The "Air Bag" light relates to the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system, more commonly known as the air bag. The light should come on when the key is turned on and go out a few seconds after the vehicle is started. After the vehicle is started, the Air Bag Control Module tests the air bag, crash sensors, and other various sensors to ensure the system is operational. This is commonly referred to as a self test. If the module detects a failure in the system it will illuminate or flash the air bag light to indicate to the driver a problem has been detected. Under most circumstances the air bag will not deploy in a collision while the system has detected a fault and the air bag light is illuminated.

Since the air bag is a critical safety device, it is imperative the system be serviced and repaired as soon as possible. Repairs to the air bag should be left to trained personnel that have the proper equipment to diagnose and repair the system correctly. The technician will perform a self diagnostic test on the Air Bag System. The Air Bag module will store a diagnostic trouble code that relates to the failed component or circuit. Once this code is retrieved, the technician will focus their diagnosis on that particular failure. Once pin-pointed, the repair facility should provide you with an accurate repair cost detailing the parts and labor.

To reset the air bag light you need to reset the sensor.. This is done by connecting a diagnostic machine to the vehicle and clearing the error codes msot mechanics have one... But chances are the clock spring is broken.. Driving over the pot hole twisted the wheel and that broke the clock spring.. This is a device inside the steering.. You have to remove the steering wheel and then remove the clock spring.. Get an original one from a dealer.. Do not buy a used one..replace it and reset the error code and you will be fine..

Unfortunately the light has to be reset with a scan tool. And if the light came on, the monitoring system detected a problem with in the ARS system. The module in the front of the vehicle sensed the shock, and although the air bag did not go off, it stored this fault in memory. You have to have it serviced at a reputable shop or Dealer service center. Don’t try to remove or probe any wires on this circuit either, if you do and hit the incorrect wire, that air bag will go off.

You will need to reset the SRS to reset the Air Bag light.
the procedure to Reset SRS is as follows:--
1. Locate the yellow 2-pin MES Connector on the fuse block above the driver's kick-panel (two blue wires). Pull connector out using a small screwdriver to push the release tab. The yellow connector is next to the fuses on the fuse panel itself (driver's side kick panel). There are some other yellow plugs & connectors higher-up... it's not one of these! You jumper the plug & wire that you pulled out (not the connector on the fuse panel that the cable was plugged in to).
2. Turn Ignition off; connect the scs tool (jumper wire, paper clip, etc.)
3. Turn ign on (crank up engine) and wait for SRS light to go off.
4. Disconnect the tool (jumper wire, paper clip, etc.) within 4 sec
5. When the light comes on again, reconnect the tool within 4 sec.
6. When the light goes off again, disconnect the tool (jumper wire, paper clip, etc.) again. The SRS light will blink two times to let you know it's erased and then it'll go off.
7. Turn ign. off and wait 10 sec before turning ign on again. YOU MUST RECONNECT THE YELLOW TWO PIN CONNECTOR TO THE FUSE BLOCK WITHIN 10 SEC WAIT!!
8. The srs light should come on for 6 sec. and then go off. RESET COMPLETE!

Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

The srs light came on after battery when dead on 2001 honda odyssey van

umm.. if your srs (safety restraint system) light is on that means that either an airbag, seatbelt, or some other (possibly serious) thing is broken in the system. The only way that i know to reset it is to fix the problem, whether it be a simple switch in a seat belt or complicated fix like fixing an airbag deployment system.

I recently got my (Honda Odyssey 2006) oil changed by a non Honda tech and now i need the service maintainence signal -code A14 reset so that i can be notified when the next oil change is due.

  • Lets get started. Place the key in the ignition and turn as if to start your minivan - but do not actually start your Odyssey.

  • 2) Locate and click the black odometer button located near the bottom of the instrument panel until "Oil Life" along with a percentage value appears.
  • 3) Release your finger from the button, then press and hold the button for ten (10) seconds.
  • 4) Once again, release your finger from the button, then press and hold the button for five (5) more seconds. Lets count: one Mississippi, two Mississippi, etc. all the way to five.
  • 5) Your Honda Odyssey's display panel should read "Oil Life 100%." You are done!

SRS Light came on after New Radio INstallation

he could have tapped into the power line for the airbag system or loosened the wire during the installation. if you went to a professional, take it back to him/her. but, on the off chance that it is a cowinkidink have it checked by someone that can access the airbag system. body shops are good for that purpose because they see that type of work from accident cases.
