Question about 1986 Ford Econoline
Ford econ 150 van. I replaced an old battery. Tested, cell was dead. Terminals very bad so I replaced them. One of the old terminals was different, did not have the clamp and next to the regular cable was a smaller one that went into the terminal. The other terminal on the left connects directly to metal of the vehicle which I thought would be the ground but if I remember right it was connected to the positive post. New battery, new terminals, nothing at all, dead. Can you help with this? Thank you.
Recheck the connections at the battery and also (when deenergized) the connection at the starter which is positive.
Also check the ground from the negative battery terminal to the body or frame.
