Not knowing which engine you have in your car I will asume you have a 2.0 liter gas engine and not the 1.8 turbo or the diesel engine. Book time pays a little under 3 hours to replace the water pump or timing belt. So multiply 3.0 by the labor rate and you should be in the ball park not including parts. A timing belt runs about $50.00
I would recomend that you have your water pump replaced at the same time. It should not cost more labor just the part plus new antifreeze.
Beetles have been known to have problems with water pumps and they will be right there if they are replacing the timing belt.
Average labor rates in Colorado are around 80-90.00 per hour
hope this helps

It might cost $150 or so in California. I'm guessing it's more than around here in Pennsylvania.

Do I need to replace the surpintine timing belt

Manufacturers recommend that belts are replaced on mileage or age (about 60,000miles or 5 years). For the cost of the belt it's worth it, if a timing belt fails it generally means major engine work and on a 1999 vehicle it may write it off!

1999 ford expedition - needs a timing belt, but mechanics keep telling me that it has a chain and not a belt. I just need it done and want to know stuff like - how much time it takes, how much it cost's,...

No engine used in the Expedition has a timing belt, they all have timing chains, timing chains never have to be replaced unless they fail or the engine is being rebuilt. On this engine replacing the timing chains for each of the two camshafts (2) cost about $500.00

What else needs to be changed when doing a timing belt on a 1999 honda accord? and about how much should it cost?

Technically, nothing else needs to be changed when replacing a timing belt, however it is recommended or suggested to replace the timing belt tensioner and water pump while doing the belt. These items are only accessable when doing a timing belt. The cost should be under $100.00

has a timing belt and if you need to replace it, if you take it to the dealer it is going to cost you well over $1000. On the ES the belt and waterpump should be changed between 90-120 km

Timing belt replacement for 2001 Kia Sephia

For California models recommended at 105,000 miles.Belt needs to be inspected at 60,000 and 90,000, miles and replace at 105,000 miles.
Except California replace at 60,000 miles. Note 1.8L engine is a interference engine, if timing belt goes bad will cause major internal engine damage.

When should you replace timing belt on Toyota Sienna van? It's a 1999 model with 210,000 kms on it and I need a new water pump. Should I replace the timing belt at the same time?

Somewhere between 90,000 mil;es and 120,000 miles you should do your timing belt. But first make sure you do not have a timg chain. If you have a timing chain, you never have to change it at all.

Miata has 61000 miles want replace timing belt to be on safe side

California has a law that Mazda guarantees the timing belt will last 105,000. I drove my 1999 Miata that long before I replaced it. Mazda ia a non interactive motor which means that if the belt breaks the car stalls and won't go anywhere. No damage to engine if it breaks.
