Yes this is one possible cause of X other possible! ABS is an electronic system is full of sensors, transducers, control units and so are looking for any error just a diagnostics. While it is perhaps just a dirty sensor, where is it when the car have one of each wheel ,you reply back just diagnostics.
For reasons of safety
I do not recommend unprofessional repair work on the ABS system somewhere at home.

There are 4 sensors in your vehicle. One on each wheel. The best thing to do is get the codes from the Electronic brake control module. This will tell you what sensor or other part of the antilock brake system is causing the light to come on.Could be wiring, solenoids, sensors,or the module itself. This is why it is important to get the codes first. The only way to get the codes is a scan tool.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Chrysler sebring sedan 2010 touring model: antilock brake light stays on

it might be a odd sensor going off. your going to have to take it to a Chrysler shop or someone that owns a a diagnostic tool that can hook it up and see what the problem is. They will most like shut off the light if its a minor problem that won't affect the vehicle.

My antilock brake system stopped working and my emergancy brake light is on even though the brake is down. the fluid is fine.

If the parking brake switch is not stuck and the fluid level is OK, try tapping on the fluid reservoir to see if the light flickers or goes off. (you need 2 people to do this) If it flickers or goes off then replace your fluid level sensor. (You may have to buy a complete reservoir or master cylinder depending on your car ) If this does not provide any results, then you may have an internal leak in your master cylinder or Antolock Hydraulic Control Module causing the Proportioning Sensor Switch to turn the light on. At this point. I would tow it to a shop and have the Antilock Control Module scanned to see why it has turned the light on and disabled your Antilock Brake System. I do not recommend driving the car at all until the RED brake warning lamp problem has been resolved. It is OK to operate the vehicle (cautiously) with the YELLOW Antilock brake lamp on.

The ABS light stays on whilst driving on a Honda CRV

Hello. This indicates that you have a bad sensor or a problem with the antilock braking system [ABS]. If your brakes no longer pump themselves when you make a quick stop you know that the antilock braking system is not working. If they still pump, the problem is more likely in sensor to the ABS system. Joe

Brake problem

your antilock brakes are activating. i would suspect one of your wheel speed sensors is acting up. (showing 0 mph while moving). need to get a scanner on it and monitor the wheel speed sensors, suspect you will see one reading 0 usually at lower speeds.

AntiLock Brakes

Probably broken wires on the sensors on your brakes, or dirty sensors. Very typical.

Antilock brake light stays on

Start with checking the sensors on each wheel.  These will be the electrical wires that come from behind each wheel.  Also check that the tire pressure in each tire is the same.  Next, check your brake fluid level.
Sorry...that's all I can help you with.  Maybe someone else can help you from here.

1991 Lincoln Towncar anti brake lock light stays on.

It's very possible you have a faulty wheel sensor. Look behind each wheel. Around the center you can see a wire harness attached. Check each wire harness for broken wires. I don't think this car has a self test to tell you which wheel has the problem. You will probably have to take it to the dealer and let them tell you.
When the antilock light comes on your cars system is telling you of a problem and also that you have standard brakes now and no antilock.
You can most probably drive normally as long as the system is staying full of brake fluid.

1989 Ford ranger rear antilock light on rear brakes lock up

metal particles on the trigger wheel sensor of the rear differential case, this causes a loose of signal and the light to come on. also a broken tooth on the trigger wheel inside the diff can cause this or a dirty/corroded connection to the sensor from water intrusion.
