Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

My 2006 Camry's horn this morning went off one time while driving about 30mph. It was about five short beeps and it sounded like it was coming from the side of the car. Once I got on the interstate and going 60mph it did it several more times then stopped. Is this the actual horn or part of the alarm system? Where do I check the fuse?

SOURCE: Horn Staying On

short on the steering column which necitates removing the steering wheel, which contains the airbag --suggest the dealership as this is special stuff, but it can be done by the owner.with precaution ??disconnect the battery first.which as its an american car you can do on a vehicle this new if it was a europeon renault then you wouldnt be able too as once battery is disconnected then only a dealer can start the vehicle again.anyway underneath the steerring wheel is a carbon brush that runs on a brass ring on the bottom of the steering wheel to make contact ,either brush has broke or the wiring coming up to it.

SOURCE: 1996 Chrysler Cirrus horn wouldn't stop beeping too!!!

was it hot outside-heat could deform the steering wheel horn pad and make the horn go off, remove the horn pad and airbag unit(take fuse out for airbag system wait a few mins)then put the fuse that you removed back in place and see if the horn goes off again.

Dash Display and Blinkers going out/ HZD Fuse burrning out

sounds like a short somewhere. you need to get a diagram on the wiring system and start from there. good luck...... could also be in fuse box because one fuse dosent run all those things. usually instrument panal lights have own fuse as do brake lights and hazard lights and gauges

All I can tell you is watch the dash display for an indicator light that blinks on with the beep. My car does this when the "ECO" light comes on.

2006 Hyundai Elantra horn does not work

Hi the only things i can think of here would be the following

Faulty horn switch

Faulty horn (the bit that goes beep ;-)

The relay for the horn

or somewhere in the wiring it is shorting out and making the horn fail

I wouldnt let the dealer give me the car back until they have checked all of these all very simple jobs

Hope this helps
