Question about 2001 BMW 5 Series

Hi there, if it's always the same time of the year you could be getting a bad batch of fuel when you fill up, does this occur after refuelling if so there could be water in the fuel, also when this fault occurs look under your vehicle in line with the rear seats and see if the fuel tank looks like it's been sucked in similar to sucking all the juice out of a carton with a straw, if so then you have a fuel ventilation issue and by the time your vehicle has been towed to a garage the fuel tank has resumed adequate ventilation, the mechanic jumps in and all of a sudden your vehicle starts at the garage ok.

I had the same issue (replaced fuses, fuel pump, pump relays fuel lines, selaers and gaskets and so on). Finally, I had fuel guage sending unit replaced (the thingy that measure the fuel in the tanks) in both the main and reservoir tanks-and no more problems.
