Question about 2001 Ford Focus

Follow the thicker pipes vs. the thinner pipes to find the low pressure side fitting. It might have a blue or black screw on plastic protective cap with an o-ring.
The charge kit will have a tube that has an end that fits only the low side quick connect pressure fitting.
Good luck getting colder air conditioning!

The low pressure fitting for AC is located on the top of the receiver/dryer (filter). The receiver dryer is located in the right front fender behind the front bumper. You will need to access this from underneath the car. Leave it to Ford to put this fitting in a spot that is not easy to find or connect to. Good luck.

You find the AC low pressure at the top of the compressor, orientated toward you , facing the front of the
vehicle. You can also follow the compressor line to reach the port.
The valve is covered a plastic cap covering it.
Near the compressor you find two ports, the high port and low port.
To find out which one is the low port, run the air conditioner for a couple of minutes withthe engine on.
Then turn off the care and touch the lines from compressor to the two ports covered with plastic caps. Only one of the pipes will be cold, the cold line will lead you to the low port.

You will notice the low side has a larger aluminum pipe, and along that pipe you will find the low side port. Anyways you can't connect the low side charging hose to the high side so there is no way you gonna make a mistake on connecting the can to the high side and blowing up the can.LOL

SOURCE: Audi A4 Ac charge valve.
On that year a4 and a6 there is no low side charging port. (sucks)
The way you charge those systems is by evacuating all of the refrigerant, then with the vehicle off, add the correct amount of refrigerant to the high side port (turning the compressor over by hand occasionally)

Its on the Passenger side of the engine bay between the strut tower and the valve cover. It should have a blue cap on it, or maybe a black cap. Follow the ac line coming out of the back of the compressor and youll see it.
