Question about 2001 Ford Windstar
Hi, sounds like a possible fuel sending unit has gone bad, malfunctioning. the fuel sending unit for your vehicle is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. this is a very common problem with many ford and gm vehicles. you should have diagnosed before any repairs, but i would bet on the fuel sending unit being the problem.
