Check charging system and won't start

Your alternator is probably going bad. Without enough power coming from it, it drained your battery, which is why it wont start. You can test this yourself with a multimeter, but if you dont know hiw, just remove the alternator and have it tested at autozone. Replace the alternator, charge battery and you are good to go. If the alternator tests good, check the wiring around it. Could be a bad wire,

MY 1990 DODGE DYNASTY WONT KEEP A CHARGE WE HAVE HAD THE ALTERNATOR CHECKED ITS GOOD AND SO IS THE BATTERY ANY THER REASONS IT WONT KEEP A CHARGE IT WILL DRIVE FOR ABOUT 30 MIN AN THEN DRAINS THE BATTERY

You need to find out what the battery drain is as it is running, a competent auto electrician can do that. I am assuming that the battery capacity has been checked as ok and if it is there must be a VERY VERY high battery drain as it is running, something must be getting very warm. I think either the battery is not draining or your previous check on the battery alternator have not been done properly. Change the battery and see what happens.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

The car is not holdong a charge. I replaced the Battery about a year ago. Today I replaced the alternator. I used jumper cables it ran for about 20 minutes and then died again. All the wires look good. Any...

FIRST, YOU MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED.. A GOOD BATTERY WILL GO FOR 12 HOURS EVEN IF THE ALTERNATOR IS NOT WORKING.. SECOND YOU TURN THE CAR ON.. ONCE THE CAR IS ON. YOU DISCONECT THE BATTERY,, IF THE ALTERNATOR IS GOOD , THE CAR SHOULD REMAIN ON WITHOUT A BATTERY.. IF IT SHUTS DOWN , YOU HAVE A BAD ALTERNATOR OR THE WIRING IS WRONG ONE OF THE TWO.. SHORTS ON YOUR WIRING CAN CAUSE THE BATTERY TO LOOSE POWER.. BUT NOT THAT FAST. BECAUSE IF THE SHORT WAS TO SERIOUS.. YOUR WIRING WOULD BE BURNED.. COMPLETELY..
IF THE ALTERNATOR IS OKAY,, REPLACE YOUR BATTERY,, MOST OF THE TIME BATTERIES GO BAD EASY WITH ANY LITTLE PROBLEM THE CELLS BURNOUT AND THEY DONT HOLD A CHARGE EVEN IF FULLY CHARGED THEY WILL LOOSE POWER IMMEDIATELY .. I THINK THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM.. SINCE IT ONLY LASTED LIKE 20 MINUTES.

I have a 2003 suburban that keeps displaying a battery not charging code. I have changed the battery and the alternator. Need advice please help.

Try hotwiring the alternator charge terminal directly to the battery positive terminal. If this eliminates the code, your fusible link is bad or the wire is loose in the junction box. If it doesn't eliminate the code, something is wrong with the PCM or the wiring to the PCM. Pull the connector off the alternator and check the terminals on both the alternator and the connector for good contact.
PCM failure would be very unusual in this mode. If you have questions, please let me know.

Hello my name is Christina I have a 2005 Ford Explorer and my check charging system light keeps on coming up. I changed the alternator 2 to 3 times already I have had the car for about one year and half....

It seems like there is most likely a bad connection between your alternator and your battery I would look into replacing those wires. That is far more likely than that many bad alternators.

I have a bran-new alternator. But my car still

CHECK ALTERNATOR FUSE + FUSE LINK TO MAIN BATTERY FEED WIRE.MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY CABLES IN GOOD SHAPE.IF THEY ARE OLD REPLACE THEM.BECAUSE THEY WILL CAUSE HIGH RESISTANCE IN CIRCUIT CAUSE CHARGING PROBLEMS. AND CHECK ALTERNATOR POSITIVE WIRE AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR WIRE.MAKE SURE DRIVE BELT NO SLIPPING.ALSO MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY IS 12.5 VOLTS.IF BATTERY IS WEAK ALTERNATOR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHARGE IT.IT WOULD BE LIKE A BUCKET WITH LARGE HOLE IN IT.KEEP FILLING IT WITH WATER IT WILL LEAK OUT.IT WONT HOLD NONE.
