Security light on 2005 chevrolet impala won't crank

More then likely it's your key.
The security key setup has resisters that slowly lose the resistance required to start the car.
You can call the dealership and give them the VIN they should be able to assist you.
If not then you will have to get a new ignition

I got a new ignition and my 2005 chevy impaula will not start what do i do

The security system is locking you out after the ignition change. You will need to have it "learned" or bypassed.

My 2005 chevy impala won't start since someone broke into my car

i would say when the person broke into your car they set off the security system which stops the car from starting, the way to reset the security is to put your key into the ignition turn the key until all the dash lights come on and let them stay on about 15 minutes after the 15 minutes have expired turn the key off and wait about 3 seconds and then your car should start. hope this helps.

2005 Impala - Security light comes on and then car won't start

there is a computer chip in your key this is not actually a chip but in the ignition its self has thin white security wires and one of them is braking if you take your car to the shop they will tell you it will cost around 300.00 to fix but the new ignition will cost you around 100 dollars and to get the new key made you will have to take new key the dealer and buy new key with chip in it this will cost around 85 dollars so all and all it will cost you 185 and time and energy of course Tools needed Wheel puller, backing plate compressor , snap ring pliers, Philips head screw driver. Long story short pull wheel and change ignition cylinder get new key made at dealer

2001 Chevy impala had ignition switch replaced, once i turn the key, "security" flashes on screen and car won't start. How do I fix this so that the car will start?

Turn the key to "on" and let the light flash. It should stop flashing after about ten to twenty minutes. Once the light is on steady, turn it off, then start the car. I usually put another battery on jumper cables attached to the cars battery so it does not run down and die before the system re-arms.
