Question about Kia Sedona

1 Answer

I just had a radiator replaced on a 2002 Kia was almost 400 dollars total, I just got it done today. I drove it back home and the temperature gauge is still going up like it's gooing to overheat. The mechanic said he checked the thermostat and said it did not have to be replaced. There is coolant in the car and I can see that it is full. What else could it be? Also when I drive, it sounds like there is a fan that is constantly on underneath the hood.

Hot air does not come out, but the air conditioner doesn't blow out cold air either...My question is, should my thermostat have been replaced automatically or is it possible that it could still be good? When I dropped my car off to the mechanic, who I have been going to for the last ten years and never had a problem with, my car was smoking. He then said that it was only a cracked radiator and that the engine had an air pocket that he tried to push out (Blow out). He said that the air pocket causes the coolant levels to drop and to add more coolant in the next couple of days if this happens. I think he would have definitely told me if it was a blown head gasket though or something serious like that. A mechanic for over thirty years, do you think he missed something like this or is this really obvious to a mechanic when a head gasket is blown?

Cost for the labor in replacing rear shocks on a 2002 Kia Sedona?

The total time listed for changing both rear shocks is 1 hour, so I depends on what your local mechanic charges per hour. Its a simple job that you could do yourself, but it shouldn't cost too much to keep your hands clean and let someone else do it.

Just bought an 04 plate Kia Sedona 2.9 diesel today and on the way home from the garage the heating was blowing cold and then the car would constantly go into limp home mode. Checked water levels and...

I know it's a used vehicle, but do your used car sellers offer no warranty in England? I'd have turned around and gone back when I found that the cooling system was empty. It shouldn't cost you a penny - either the seller fixes it or refunds your purchase price.

Need to replace water pump in2005 kia sedona

The kia sedona water pump is an internal pump and needs to be replaced with timing belt service. if it is leaking, then you need to change the timing belt as well. probably not something you want to do in the back yard and will run you between 400 and 600 depending on your location and shop.

Kia Sedona overheating. New radiator/compressor. Now what??

To start with you have to do this:
With the engine cold, start the car and say after 30 to 40 secs. open the radiator cap.
Carefully and slowly, cause if the problem is either in the cylinder block or cylinder head this shows immediately as water would be compressed in the radiator ( even though the motor is still cold ).
If nothing happens and you would not notice any bubbles in the radiator, then we have to talk again.
