Question about 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier

1 Answer

Hi, I have a 1994 Chevy Cavalier with the 2.2L 4Cyl Engine. We bought it off a private owner and it was running good. We went to autozone to get a new fuel injector because one was leaking, we replaced that. When we went to start it back up it wouldn't start. We tested the starter and battery and alternator all checked out good but still no start. We had it towed back to the house where we could work on it. We ran our own test with a tester and turned out the starter solenoid switch was bad. We replaced that, however it was wired wrong the first go round and the ground on the battery post sparked when connecting the battery. We immediately took it off, and wired the solenoid back the right way. Connected the battery, and now the car has no power at all! No sounds, no lights, no electricity getting to the vehicle at all! What would be the problem?

The smaller wires that hook to the big post on the solenoid. These are fusable link wires. It sounds like one is burnt or not hooked up. These feed all the power to the car. Did you hook the grounds to the top of the starter bolt?

My 2003 chevy cavalier check engine light keeps

go to autoparts store and use their scanner to scan the computer and get the code. you may have to wait until you can catch it back on again. You can try resetting the computer by disconnecting battery for 30 minutes and see if that works first

1985 chevy blazer smoked and died

To start off you can probably get a manual at Autozone. To get a good idea of what's really going on in the engine you might want to check compression, wet and dry, check fuel output psi and do the basics, IE plugs, rotor and cap, plug wires, etc. At least if you do the checks you'll have an idea of the engines condition, if it's worth putting alot of money into. Please rate this and good luck.

Replace termostat in a 1998 chevy cavalier still run hot

Yes it does have a electric fan, mine went out on my 2003 and I just changed the electric motor itself. Autozone offered the entire fan with motor or they offered just the motor. I chose to replace the motor only because I knew the fan blades and housing was fine. I had to drop the fan down and take out the entire assembly from the bottom but overall the process was a 3 out of 10 on the difficulty.

Check your fuse to your cigarette lighter then go back to autozone and see if they can get codes to pull. I have seen this before. Hope this helps.
