Question about Ford Tempo
The 1992 Ford engine has 300,000 km. That's quite a bit of mileage. You say that there seems to be a loss of compression and that it uses a lot of oil through an external leak. There is no spark issue but the electronic fuel injection is grey to you.
I think the car has been driven so much, that the engine has mechanical wear issues. The electronic fuel injection is fine, even the dohc 24 valve feature is nice to have. But, if the engine is mechanically worn out, all the electronics in the world won't help it run well. I'm surprised you cen get up to 70-80 kmh on such an engine.
I would either replace the engine with a rebuilt one, or have it overhauled to get better performance. It's running on borrowed time, judging by the seal leak.
It's never good to have an engine oil leak.
