Question about 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

Air does not come out of the vents on the dash board, only the vents closest to the windshield. I'm thinking the cause is the vacuum pod (not sure if that's the correct name). Your thoughts?

Air will not come out of a/c vents

Your controls are vacuum operated. Make sure that there is vacuum present...if not find the disconnect. Or, the vacuum "motor" that controls air direction has failed or is stuck.

Have the vents checked. See if there's a leak or something block the air passage.

I drive c240 2005, when i turn the front glass fog air blow on, it give loud noise and now air comes out, it seems that pips are blocked somewhere.. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO

Do you mean that the air does not come out of the vents at the bottom of the windshield?

This could be as simple as a vacuum leak or a broken leaver somewhere in your dashboard. I'm a big fan of fixing it yourself but I think this one is going to be easier for a dealer to fix.

1997 Buick LeSabre Limited Edition, Dash vents do not blow air

ck to see if the mode vaccum actuator is getting vaccum, you will need to test actuator with a hand held vaccum gun, if actuator has failed you will need to replace, if actuator holds vaccum and it does not move the door your door may be out of position inside case or something could hold it locked in position. you will need to check door by hand to see if it moves freely.

Air conditioner not working properly

I have just ordered the part to fix this. It is the A/C vacuum actuator (not sure why they call it a vacuum actuator because it is an electric actuator). It is under the dash on the driver's side close to the radio. There are two in the same area. It is the one closest to the floor. You can verify by taking it out (pull out duct that runs from center of vehicle to the outside to get better access), and actuating the vent by hand with the blower on to see if you now get air out the middle vents.

The part number is 1573596 from Rock Auto on the net. It cost $40.79.

Got a yellow vacuum hose hanging from the climate control. Air conditioner only blows through the defroster. I think this hose controls the door to route the air to the vents.

There are air pods on the heating and cooling system that opens different vents. Look under either the drivers or passenger side dash and feel around. It will be kinda hard to find just take your time and a flash light so you can see what your looking for.

You have lost engine vacuum to the AC vacuum motors, this is either a pinched vacuum line from the engine vacuum storage canister or the canister is damaged or the control switch in the dash is leaking vacuum.
