Question about 2004 Cadillac SRX

1 Answer

I have a 2004 SRX that has the front turn signal/running light out. It is just below the head lamp and just above the fog lamp. It is amber. It is usually on when the car is running. I can't find how you access it to replace it. You can't reach your hand in there. How do I get to it to replace it? Thanks!

Thanks! This helps. I was trying to go at it from above by taking out the air filter and other things in the way, but could not get at all the mounting screws that held down the airfilter assembly and other things in the way of reaching it. I would never have thought about taking the tire off! Most GM's are easy to work on, so I was stumped as to how to get at this. Thanks again!

I just had to replace mine. you have to take jack the car up. take the tire off. remove all clips and remove the rubber guards (whatever they are called). you then have to remove some star shaped screws behind the light. you just keep taking stuff off until you see the light!! i took it to the dealer at first but they were going to charge me $180 to change a $5 bulb. absolutely ridiculous. They gave me a print off with step bu step instructions but i lost it. I hope this helps.

I have had my 2004 SRX for 1 year now and have had to replace the same turn signal three times!! The first time the dealer did it, it took them 4 hours. This third time my husband and I did it and another 4 hours and a few very choice words. What a joke that they would make it so hard to replace a five dollor bulb!! Funny thing about it, or rather not so funny is that the bulb wasnt burnt out. We couldnt find any problem with the socket however so im sure we will be replacing it again soon.

We finally took ours to a dealer who charged hundreds of dollars to replace the turn signal bulb as they have to drop the bumper facia to get at that bulb. As an alternative, I am told that you can remove the front wheel and remove the inner fender liner and get at it from behind. Either way, it is ridiculous that GM would design a car this way. If you have a dealer do it, and they remove the front bumper facia, you should have all bulbs needing access this way replaced on either side while this proceedure is being done. The others will go bad too eventually and, at just a few dollars per bulb, will save you hundreds down the line by avoiding having to drop the facia off again to replace the other bulbs.

I recently read that the problem with the turn signals isnt the bulb but the socket over heats and thus the bulb burns out/ Now after having to change the bulb 3 times i now only use the signal for very short periods at a time. I hope that will help the problem? We will see

How do i turn on the fog lights on 2007 srx?

good afternoon Anonymous.

The manual for this model can be found here: on the Cadillac website. There is mention on manual page 181 of turning the fog lamps on and off with the Fog Lamp Band. If you look on page 167, it ties an illustration to Fog Lamps, showing you where the band is on the Turn Signal Lever.

Hoping this answers your question!

2005 avalanche Fog lights are staying on with

The fog lamps are computer controlled .the body control module (BCM) will energize the fog lamp relay control circuit. The BCM receives the park lamp ON signal from the interior park lamps supply voltage signal circuit.
DTC B2527 Front Fog Lamps Circuit Low
The body control module (BCM) monitors the front fog lamp switch signal circuit in order to determine when the fog lamp relay is to be energized. When the BCM senses that the front fog lamp switch signal circuit is grounded momentarily by pressing the fog lamp switch, the BCM energizes the fog lamp relay by grounding the fog lamp relay control circuit.

Your best bet , take it to the dealer . Could need BCM replaced , would need to do testing using the Tech 2 scan tool . A new BCM has to be programmed .

Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement
If the body control module (BCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed in the following order:
BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Computer/Integrating Systems.
Important: This procedure has to be performed only for vehicles equipped with the Passlock™ System.
Theft Learn--Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent. A new BCM will learn the Passlock™ information automatically, but the powertrain control module (PCM) must still learn the theft information from the BCM.

Fog lamps come on with turn signal on 2004 maxima

Those are not "fog lamps" They are lights to illuminate your turn. Notice the left one comes on with left signal? Right one with the right signal? Those came in very handy driving switch backs in Germany! Although I was not making an actual turn, I would turn on the right turn signal on a 270 degree right hander so I could see where I was going. Very cool concept. I have never seen this on any other car that I know of.

Rear fog light not working.2004 toyota rav4

I guess that your refering to the backup lights? They have their own fuse and aren't imune to having the bulbs burnt out. The bulbs are easiest to check as they may be black in color or knocked out of their holders. The back up light switch is part of the neutral start switch and they will have other problems like no start if it's bad. wiring and their plugs are also possible mainly if the car as been in an accident or other bending action.

How do I change the left running light on a 2005 Cadi SRX?

    Hi there,
Open the hood and look behind the head lamps, there should be a wire or two going into a unit that is connected to the head lamp. You should be able to reach in there and you will probable have to turn the unit left or right and pull it out. Your light buld will be connected to it. Take the bulb to a local parts store and they will match it. The same is for all the lights. Hope this help you out. Let me know. Have a great night.~MWD

Replacing front turn signal bulb on 2006 Cadillac SRX

You must take the front wheel off, then remove the inner front fender panels (2), they are fastened with plastic pushbuttons. this exposses the light housings for the turn and fog lambs. This takes about an hour, but saves you alot of money.
