Question about 1990 Pontiac Trans Sport
The fuel pump can hum without pumping anything, is it leaks pressure.
You need to actually measure the pressure with a gauge to be sure.
But assuming it is electrical instead of fuel, if it cranks over, then you know current gets to the ignition switch, but you then need to check if it gets to the ignition control unit. Which should then power the ignition coil. If that is ok, then it could be the cam position sensor (like the distributor used to be). You can take it out and have it checked by a place like Autozone. Then have them check the coil pack.
