Question about Lincoln Navigator

1 Answer

2003 Lincoln Navigator had a door ajar light coming off and on. The Air suspension is all the way down and won't adjust. The door lock was replaced but the suspension is still all the way down. The motors come on but nothing is moving. Does the dealer have to re-set the vehicle's computer to get the suspension to re-adjust?

There is no reset for the air suspension other than the switch in the trunk that turns it off when the car is jacked up or lifted off the ground, and if the air suspesion compressor is running then the problem is that the air bags at one or more wheels is leakiong, they are good at best for 75-100,000 miles, then they leak, have all the air springs tested, always replace them in pairs. The door ajar light is cause3d by a tiny miocro switch that is attached to the door latch inside the door, there are 4 of these one for each door, they are controlled by a central module commonly klnown as the GEM, it can be scanned to see which latch switches are defective, unless the scan is done u may have3 to pull all 4 doors apart to find the defective switch, sio the dealer scan is money well spent.

The Door Ajar is fixed. The Suspension quit working when the door ajar light kept coming on. From what you are telling me is that they are not related? The Dealer doesn't have to re-set the car's computer?

The two events are not related?

the door ajar and the airbag suspesion are not related in anyway, they are completely separate parts of electrical system, which I was factory trained on.

2003 lincoln navigator running board stay out on passanger side unless your are moving (they retract) passenger mirror does not adjust backig up message continues saying door ajar

You probably have a bad door switch that is located in the door latch. If the vehicle tells you which door is ajar I would try a good penetrating oil first and if not replace that door latch. It will take a bit of working the latch before it will start to work if thats all it is so have some patients with it.

try spraying silcone spray in each door latch even the rear hatch door. i have done this before and it has fixed it before. the reason is that dash will get on the sensor and make the light come on.

Receiving door ajar indication on 2003 Lincoln Navigator

Sounds like you have a Faulty Door Switch. When you open the door there is a Small Button on the Side closest to the Inside of the Truck. Push this in with your Finger and see if they don't go off. Some of these are Movable so you can adjust them in and out.

2000 lincoln Navigator air suspension

There are level control sensors they look like little arms (with joints like your elbows) mountesd on lower control arms. They may be at fault they control the height and turn the pump off when the height is reached. try adjust height first before you replace, they can be adjusted. Good Luck

Lincoln navigator 2003

The most common cause is the air suspension bags leaking, you will need to pressure test them and ID if one or both are leaking.
