Question about 1998 Audi A6

1 Answer

I had a lot of white smoke coming from the exhaust after I started losing power. I figured that I had blown a head gasket. I purchased a product by motor purr called seal up. After running through the process, the smoke was gone. I drove on it for two days with no problems. The smoke from the exhaust has returned. What does it mean and what do I do?

If your not overheating or losing coolant, its more than likely engine oil burning. If it is coolant related, possible blown head gasket.

White smoke coming out of exhaust and no power

White smoke is usually a sign of engine coolant being burned in the combustion chamber. With a lack of power i would venture to guess you have a blown head gasket or intake gasket.

White smoke came from the exhaust pipe and the car killed in motion. I check all fluid levels were fine, once i started the care again and proceeded the accleration was a bit rough. After a few minute

white smoke mostly is caused by over fueling so what i suggest you do is first of all check if there is no leak on the injectors and if there is none which means your valve sterm seals are damaged. When the head gasket is blown out you may have problems like :-loosing power when driving, over heating, idling problems and oil mixing with water, its not your head gasket.

I HAVE CONSTANT WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST WHAT CAN IT BE

Have you checked the oil filler cap for what appears to be traces of "mayonnaise"? Are you slowly losing coolant? You may have a leaky head gasket.

Alot of white smoke coming out of exhaust

If you are also losing coolant it is likely a blown exhaust gasket. The white smoke is a result of coolant leaking through the exhaust gasket and and being forced out your tailpipe. You can check to see if the head gasket is blown by removing your oil fill cap and checking the oil for a milky brown color. I hope this was helpful.

Suddenly started smoking white smoke and seems to be losing power

White smoke is coolant being burnt. That with your lose of power would suggest a bad head gasket. A compression test could confirm it. Hope this helps.
