Sx4 burning oil,no visual oil leaks.what could cause this?

wow no year, no country and no engine stated, now that is a challenge. no engine mileage either, 50k or 300k? miles>?
so what makes you think its burning oil.?
long lasting white cloud behind you and EPA (MOT) in hot pursuit?
or every week oil level drops (can )
my guess is drop only.
so HOW many miles for 1/2 qt loss.?? that be first.
all cars burn oil , all do !
and the faster you go , the more so. how fast? do you go, here in dallas we
have a 85mph freeway with folks doing 90 allday.
they burn more. oil;.here. sure do.

Serviced for MOT< that means CANADA right?
we dont have MOT in the USA this forum is USA (calif)
here its smog stations, EPA regulated.

did they put in very thing oil in your car?
like 0w ?
the thinner oil can walk past the lower oil control ring
and down leaky valve seals.

also get a new PCV valve and keeping pressures down this
way cuts oil consumption.

is this car new to you?
the driver must learn his/her oil usage by checking oil
about every other fuel fill up. then learn rate of burn.
and add it , when at 1/2 qt low , learned in advance.
predict it and win.

I have a 2008 a4 audi, it uses 1 qt of oil between changes, is this normal

it is within factory specs to burn more than a quart of oil within 2500 miles it is also common with oil changes are done at small and quick oil change places that the oil is not filled to the max level making it look like it burns more than it does and not using synthetic oil as required asl makes a difference

I have a 1990 Trooper that is stalling, it's had regular tune ups and oil changes and when it's not stalling runs fantastic. There's a knocking sound coming from the engine and folks have

The noise stops or the stalling stops ??
The stalling could be fuel or ignition related so more investigation will be needed there.

Why is my 2007 jeep burning oil

there could be a number of reasons why your jeep is burning oil, chances are you need to change out the rings but i would do a compression check just to verify that. Also just in case you have not already checked for leaks under the car do that.

What is normal oil consumption?

you may want to upgrade your oil to a thicker oil that helps alot more than people think its normal anywhere from 1qt to 1/2 a qt every 3000 miles that sounds pretty good and a healthy engine upgrade on brands and viscosity that should take care of that but it will burn more oil if the engine is being broken into for the first time if its brand new
