Check your wheel speed sensor wires near the front wheels. They could be binding or stretched on the hard left. It could also just be a bad harness to the sensor - I have had several of these go bad from all of the constant motion, salt, and other environmental issues.
If you have an ODB-II scanner with ABS, you can read the code and it will tell you which side is giving you the problem.

Battery light is on when idleing, but when i accelerate battery light goes out

Two things can make the bat light come on at idle but go off above idle.
The belt could be slipping because it is not tight, or glazed, or the alternator could be defective.
Once the engine starts, the alternator should be making enough current to "turn the light off". The light is grounded thru the alternator until it is charging, which reverses that circuit and kills the ground source for the light.
If you are sure the belt is ok, I would have the alternator bench tested, because usually if the belt is slipping it slips more at higher speeds.

Antilock brake code will turn both warnings on. Most likely a speed sensor issue. But, need more info. What kind of vehicle?

How do I stop my car showing ABS, POWER STEERING and BREAKING SYSTEM lights and beeping.?

-First able check all the belts. If any loose. (I mean not tight or good tension).
-If all tensions are good then turn on the car, let it run for 10-15 minutes and check the voltage at the battery. If it's below 13 volts
then the problem is the alternator.

Good Luck

Abs on vr commodore light stays on solutions

Error logs are a great thing. They will help you find intermittent problems and start you off in a general direction of where a problem could be. There is a great level of detail on the justcommodores site on checking error codes logged by the engine management system, but this does not detail anything about the abs system. The abs warning light is not as common as the check engine warning light. Reading through the posts, I haven't found any detail on checking error codes logged by the abs system.

So here it is. For those of you familiar with checking the engine error codes, this procedure is so simple its not funny.

Basically, to check the engine error log, you bridge the 5th (ground) and 6th pins in the ODB connector under the steering wheel.

To check the ABS error log, using the same trusty calibrated paper clip, you simply bridge pins 5 and 12 of the connector.

To find pins 5 and 12, start at the top left hand corner. That is pin one. Going to the right, you count pin 2,3,4 etc. Once you get to the end, jump back to the start of the bottom left level of pins and keep counting. Pin 5 is about halfway along the top row, pin 12 is a little left of the middle in the bottom row.

Reading the error codes is the same procedure (counting the flashes), except now, the ABS light flashes (as opposed to the engine light when checking the engine codes).

The ABS log also uses code 12 firstly, with any errors logged shown after that. If no errors are logged, the 12 will flash again.

Error codes for the ABS error log (VR/VS) are as follows:

12 Diagnostic system operational
21 Right hand front wheel speed sensor fault
23 Right hand front wheel speed sensor continuity fault
25 Left hand front wheel speed sensor fault
27 Left hand front wheel speed sensor continuity fault
28 Wheel speed sensor frequency error
31 Right hand rear wheel speed sensor fault
33 Right hand rear wheel speed sensor continuity fault
35 Left hand rear wheel speed sensor fault
37 Left hand rear wheel speed sensor continuity fault
41 Right hand front inlet solenoid valve circuit fault
42 Right hand front outlet solenoid valve circuit fault
45 Left hand front inlet solenoid valve circuit fault
46 Left hand front outlet solenoid valve circuit fault
55 Rear inlet solenoid valve circuit fault
56 Rear outlet solenoid valve circuit fault
61 Pump motor relay circuit fault
63 Valve relay circuit fault
71 ABS control module internal fault

The above guide has been verified on a VR/VS. Checking the error log on all models prior to VR/VS is the same for the engine log, and I would assume that the same can be said for the ABS log, would be happy if someone could verify this for me.

Antiskid and abs light stays on

On many GM cars the traction and ABS lights are caused by the wire harness at the left front wheel. The problem starts out with an occasional warning that goes away when you shut it off and restart it. It eventually gets worse until it comes on every time you start the vehicle. You have to unplug the speed sensor at the left front wheel, unclip all the retaining clips that hold the harness and follow it up as far as you can. You now have to cut it and replace the wires with new ones. A whole harness with connector is available from parts stores that can be spliced in but it is a costlier option at about $35. I just used bulk 16 guage wire and replaced about an 18" section. Haven't seen an ABS light since. Wrap it up tight with weatherproof conectors and black tape. The original wires that I replaced showed no obvious signs of breakage. They were twisted together tightly and frayed inside the insulation from years of turning and stretching.

Yes. Both lights usually come on when there is an ABS problem detected whereas the brake light will usaully only come on by itself with the hand brake or low fluid.

I have a 2000 passat. We changed the brakes and now the ABS warning light, buzzer and "service manual" keeps coming on the dash. Any ideas what it might be?? Thanks

To stop the service interval warning and sound coming on please follow the following steps.
1. insert key into ignition. 2. using right hand press and hold the odometer reset stalk. 3 using your left hand turn on the ignition ( dont start the Car) 4 now use your left hand to press the clock adjust stalk and turnit to the left. ( just advance the time by 1 minute) 5 release both stalks and then turn ignition off , then on again and your service warnig light and sound will now not appear for the next 5000 miles. ( repeat the above when it comes on again) This will also save you £30.00 for the garage to do it.
