Are parts interchangable for a 1997 and a 2008 subaru outback?

Given the difference in model years no. A few things might, but I wouldn't expect much more then maybe light bulbs, oil filter and a few other small things..

I have a 2003 outback we put a scanner on the car and drove the car at 45 mph the front o2 sensor was reading 5.5 the rear o2 sensor was reading 0.07 my gas mileage has dropped there are no codes showing...

If no codes are showing up, but you're fuel mileage has decreased, make note as to where you are getting your fuel. Differently fuel doesn't make a huge difference, but when I worked at a gas station, I had employees from the gas station next to us telling me that our fuel gave them better performance and mileage than theirs did - also, make sure that you're air filter, filter for turbo (if equipped) are new, and you may wanna check your spark plugs, to ensure they are gapped correctly. Another thing to consider is the catalytic converter being plugged, or the muffler even.

I cant locate the fuel filter in my outback 2002

Hi,

The fuel filter is inside the tank of your car. This is located under the passenger seat in the back.

It is just a small filter inside the fuel tank.

How to change cabin air filter in a 2003 Subaru outback/

Your cabin filter is located behind the glove box.
First you will need to remove the glove box. Open the glove box, and on the left and right side on the inside, there will be a retainer that you will need to pull out. This will cause your glove box to fall forward, exposing all of the screws. Unscrew the 10 screws around the outer edge of the glove box, and pull the unit down and out of your way.
After the glove box is removed, you will be able to see the HVAC casing. You will see the access door to the cabin filter, held in with some clips. Disconnect the resistor connector that is in your way, then remove the four clips in order to access the filters.
Once you pull the filters out, you can install the new ones in reverse order. Make sure that the arrows on the filters are pointing up, and that the door is sealed properly when you close it back up.
Good luck and please let me know if I may further assist you. -TXTEXAN

Where is the oil filter located in a 1997 ford taurus?

Hi Honerua,
The oil filter is located on the left side of the block. This is the side facing the radiator. Here is a picture that should make it easier to understand. This information is for a 3.0L,if you have a different motor, drop me a line. Good hunting, Chuckautodoc.gif

How do you replace a fuel filter on a 2003 subaru outback 4cyl 2.5 litre

The filer is located on the left side of the engine compartment by the strut tower. Usually it is held on by just a snap type clip or in some cases you will have to loosen the screw that simply holds the filter tight by a clamp. You will need a phillips head screwdriver, loosen the three hose clamps on the top of filter to three fuel lines.carefully pull the hoses off the fittings and reverse the proceedure. Have a rag handy to claen up your mess if needed. Also dont over tighten the clamps when installing, they are pretty cheap. let your car run for a minute or two, shut it off and check for leaks. Hope this helps ya, please let me know.

Location of volvo s40 2003 oil filter

It is underneath near the oil pan. Not really a filter, but the cover to the filter. Should be a black round looking thing. Remove this, and the paper filter element is inside. Be careful not to crack or damage the cover.

Unable to locate the position of the fuel filter

Follow the (usually steel) fuel lines from the engine bay underneath the vehicle all the way back to the fuel tank. fuel lines may resemble brake lines, they usually look very much alike. Find your fuel rail, it connects to fuel injectors, and then follow it to find the fuel lines that go to the fuel tank.

You may have to remove plastic covers from underneath the vehicle, one kia I worked on the fuel filter was halfway up the side of the fuel tank and we had to remove the whole undercarriage cover from underneath the vehicle to follow the fuel lines to it.

I assume you have the new fuel filter, so you know what you are looking for, if you don't it looks like a can with a fuel line coming out of either side of it. Similar to what an engine oil filter looks like, usually quite a bit smaller though.

Hope this helps :)

2003 VW Beetle TDI

The oil filter is in a filter housing located on the top of the engine. Take the engine cover off. The 3, 10mm nuts are located under the circular pop-off covers that attach the plastic engine cover. You should see the oil filter housing to the right of the engine valve cover. The oil filter housing is a black, plastic cylinder with a cover that unscrews. The filter is inside of this. Make sure you drain the oil before unscrewing the cover to the filter housing.
