Here is what u need to do, go to a local locksmith, hardware store or auto parts store and buy a tube of powdered Graphite lock cylinder lube, spray a little into the ignition lock cylinder and insert the key a few time, apply again and this should cure the problem, if it doesn't u will need to have the igntion lock cylinder replaced, do not use anything other then lock cylinder dry lubricant, WD40 or other oily lubes will make matter worse in the ong run.

Altima key stuck ignition

Try pushing your shifter all the way forward while trying to turning the key to the off position and pulling the key out. You will most likely have to buy a new shifter lever or the whole shifter assembly.

Car running

hacked wiring. ?
or bad ignition switch. or main relay.?

when you turn the key to off, the PCM loses 12vdc power.
the main relay is hot all the time.
if it sticks , that is a big problem.
the ECU watches the key switch at pin c33 ignition feed pin
and desides whether to energize the main or not.
if the dash guages drop fast at key off, that proves the key switch is working right. same is true of CEL lamp goes out, key off.
does this car have remote start? option or add on?

the Main relays most drop out, key off, if not work from there.
alldata.com has the schematic ,

2008 escape hybrid won't start when you turn the

I am not familiar with hybrids, but i think when you start, it's starting with the battery, so I think you have a bad connection, check and clean the battery terminals.

Phone the KIA dealership in the area where you live, Ask to talk to some one in the service department, To see what they think would cause it to do that, Most dealerships are verry helpfull, At least where i live in (Canada)

So the problem has been occuring for a year and you are just now trying to fix it? Sorry, I just simply do not understand why people do this...keep driving it until it won't drive anymore even though you KNOW it has a problem....Maybe you can explain this to me???

If you can hear the starter clicking when you try to start it, then you have a bad starter. If it makes no noise at all. then you most likely have a bad clutch switch.

When i shift it into park and turn the engine off and then proceed to pull the key out it wont relaese.

your ignition switch may be going bad. suggest this, turn key to off position, wiggle sterring wheel while removing your key. this won't last long though. you can try not stressing the steering by not parking on a hill,or parking the car where the steerings going to be in a [bind] or it may be only a ignition switch going bad,you can try this 1st though, while you're attempting to turn your key on, turn your steering wheel to right and left gently,if this works, your ignition switch is worn.if you continue to park the car in a bind,[on a hill] [up or down] it will get worse. and you will have to replace the ignition switch.

Key sticking in ignition switch

you need to fix it before you start to lose mobility in the key and it would be a good idea for a technician to fix this since it will most likey need a new ignition tumbler(the thing you put your key in) and of course a new key. if your car is newer all this will need to be coded to the computer. Sorry :(
