You probibly have a bad sensor. they are easy to replace, but you will need to figure out which one it is.. Also check to make sure that the cable hasn't come unplugged or is clear of any dirt. these could also cause the ABS light to come on.

1999 Windstar drives fine for awhile then something starts to happen the abs light comes on the trak light comes on the lights won't go hi and low no backup lights the turn signal won't turn o

Just as a precaution, please check the brake fluid reservoir on that model. There is a sensor at the base of the master cylinder which can leak brake fluid over the wiring circuit, and cause the electrics to short out. In some extreme cases this has caused fires in some vehicles. This is why Ford had issued a recall to this particular model in the states at least.

The o/d could have a sticking solenoid. try a can of tranx first. this did the trick for my van. on the abs/brake ford has a recall on this check with a dealer. have your vin # ready they will need it

My Ford windstar 2001 cruise control just stop working. it has 107,000 miles. Also, when driving the van sputters, it seem like the brake is being applied but continues to move.

is there brake fluid leaking on the wires under the master brake cylinder? if so you need to call ford about the recall. Its also suspected that this problem causes a malfunction in the abs system.
you can look up your recall info here http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/

ABS and brake on 2001 Ford Windstar come on randomly

Do you mean the van is actually braking like a Starsky and Hutch move or that the warning lights indicate that they are on? If its lights then you may be low on brake fluid. Maybe a module leak
