It sounds like as soon as something gets warm, the engine won't run. How does it die? Is it as if someone turned the key off, or is it different than that? You mentioned MAF and ECM, so I presume this is port electronic injection?

Just had the same problem. Found 2 injector coils shorted and 3 on their way out. Replaced all 8 injectors and problem solved. Runs like a champ now. If its hot and doesn't start ohm out the injectors and remove the connectors for the bad ones. It will start immediately but misses on those cylinders.

It is likely the electronic ignition control module. When they go, they just go bad and usually when you are driving.

If it was a smaller vehicle it could also be a timing belt but your's has a heavy duty valve train so no worries there.

What is the ideal operating fuel pressure for an 89 Corvette w/ LT-1 TPI

The 5.0L injector is sized to deliver approximately 4.05 milligrams of fuel with a 2.5 millisecond pulse or 18.13 lbs per hr at approximately 36 PSI. The 5.7L injector is sized to deliver approximately 4.83 milligrams of fuel with a 2.5 millisecond pulse or 23.92 lbs per hr at approximately 43.5 PSI. This information is typical for all manufacturers and flow rates will vary slightly even between identicle injectors.
Good luck and hope this helps.
