Question about Honda Odyssey

1 Answer

The passenger side window fell into the door and will not go back up. Does this sound like the regulator needs to be replaced? The window is definately is not in it's track anymore. How do I remove the door panel to check the regulator?

Thanks but my window is automatic so I think I will have to get the regulator fixed in order to get the window to go back up. I will see if the door panel comes off the same way.

Anyone know how to get the window to stay in place while we are waiting for the regulator part?

Not sure about the odyssey but i own an acura integra (honda). The door panel is held on by about three screws, after you remove thoes start at the bottom of the door and pull out the tabs around the door when the door panel is pulled from the door lift it up and away from the door. (it slids in beside the window) then unplug the electrical connectors and set it aside. I recommend 3M's window weld found at autozone, clean out the window track and glass apply some 3M according to the container and put the window back in the track. Roll the wondow all the way up and leave it closed for atleast 24 hours. Put the door panel back on in reverse order from how it came off.

if your glass just fell out of the track but you can still hear the regulator trying to push the window up or down then you probably just need to put it back in the track. If the fuse didnt blow for the window and the regulator isnt working then i would say its the regulator, you can check to see if there is power getting to the regulator with a test light if you have one, or a digital multi meter (DMM). IF your getting power to the regulator and its not doing anything its definatly junk. If not, then your problem is else where. As far as holding the window up, the only thing i could think of its maybe duct tape, but it will make a heck of a mess on your glass and car.

Replacing window regulator on the front passenger side

I had the same problem with a BMW that I had. On mine the actual wire broke. It has to be the wire or the clips. If you can't get to the dealer may have to be contacted. They have special tools to do this type of fix. This is done on purpose by the manufacturer so that you have to go to them for repairs. Sorry.

Window on passenger side of my 1995 nissan maxima won't go up. all the other windows are working. what could the problem be? thanks onno ihns

If it makes a sound when you try to roll it up then it isn't the motor. If thats the case the window probably fell off the window regulator track. To fix it you have to take off the door panel and put the window back in the track.
If you don't hear a sound when you try to roll it up it is most likely the window regulator motor. In that case you can buy a replacement online at a place like or go to a junk yard to get it cheaper.
More unlikely problems could be the electrical wiring is messed up somewhere in the car or the master window switch is out.

Passenger side window fell down when pressed down button. now wont go back up and wont stay up when pushed up

Take it to an auto glass shop, the window has fallen out of the track attached to the regulator. If there is no whining motor sound the regulator may have died as well and you need to look around on ebay for a replacement, Since the driver door regulator usually dies first however, I would bet on the regulator being good, window just out of track. A glass shop can fix that for you in a few hours for less than a hundred bucks. If price is not a factor then a dealer can do it for you for about 500 bucks.

Replaced passenger side door glass. When you use

What you need to do to initialize the window is remove the window motor from the regulator. Plug it into the car by itself, then press up on the switch until it turns four times. Then hold the switch down for four turns, then put motor back into the regulator, and assemble back into the door. to make sure the motor spins correctly four times I make a tooth on the gear with a marker.

The passenger side window just fell down and made a breaking metal sound while falling anyone know how to repair a problem like this or how to take the door panel off?? thanks

either hand crank or electric, the window assy is on a regulator and a track. no doubht the regulator or the bar that moves the window in the track let go. look in the grab handle for the screws to remove it, and the panel should have backing clips on it that just pull out of holes in the body of the door. then you can see the the extent of the damage. those parts are normally available from napa. hope that helps.

Subaru impreza/ manual side window stuck

You are having a problem with the "window regulator" remove the door panel, see if the window regulator bolts fell out. they are usually in between the plastic door covering and the door or inside the door on the bottom. they are four bolts that a 10 mm wrench fit, they are short about 1/4 of an inch long, if they fell out you can simply put them back in (I recommend using lock tite on them) These bolts are located in the middle of the door a little towards the front. If your bolts are still in place you probably need a window regulator.
